I just got a TU-3... because I was increasingly perturbed every time I used my PB and it wouldn't lock-in when I got in tune. So far, I like the TU-3 better.

Boss's answer to korg pitch black?

A tuner thread should be straightforward: The more accurate the tuner, the better. However, this never seems to be the case.
Two amazing tuners that are never spoken about:
The GFS Tuner. It's tiny. It's durable. It's 40 bucks new. And it's +/- 1 cent.

Also, the TU-3 is not Boss's answer to the Pitchblack. Korg had the DT-10 out for years that was also +/-1 cent. Pedal tuners at that accuracy are not exactly a new earth-shattering idea

That is because you weere never in tune. The PB only shows what is. I noticed this with my Upright Bass. The PB is more accurate than the Bass can actually tune.

All I know is that the TU-3 gives me a powerful reward (satisfying light show) when I get the instrument in tune.... and the PB makes me anxious when I can't get it to lock.

On stage I use a TU2. My Peterson I use for set ups.
There are more accurate Tuners than the PB no doubt.
What I'm saying is your tuner is only as good as your Bass. If your bass is not capable of tunig in 1 cent increments then your tuner will let you know it, if the tuner can actually make that spec. If your tuner is fooling you then I would question it's specs.

I have never owned or even heard of a bass or guitar that could not be tuned with any decent tuner. I would guess it would have to be a serious POS. You guys do have me wanting to A/B my rig with and without the TU2 though, to see if there is "Tone suckage". If there is I would imagine it would have to be pretty minimal considering I have never noticed it.
For what ever reason I experienced serious tone suckage with my TU-2 but only with my Upright Bass. The Pitch Black being true bypass cured that.
I need a Tuner in line to use it as a Mute Switch between sets. It is difficult maneuvering an UR Bass at a gig and being able to stomp and unplug is a plus.
With Electric Bass I had no problems using a TU-2 though after getting the PB I noticed how much more accurate it is over the TU-2.
I do not regard any of my Basses as a POS and none of them are as accurate as my PB.

It upsets people when I point this out, especially to those benighted people who expect their tuner to "track" when their bass string is throwing an erratic 30-cent wow...and think a tuner is "good" or "accurate" if it fakes some kind of bogus damping to hide this fact.
People believe more arrant nonsense about tuners than any other piece of gear, except possibly go-faster cables, and waste an amazing amount of money and time on this foolishness.
Any functioning tuner you can buy at any price is more accurate than your bass is over the range of played notes.

I'm getting a new tuner soon. there are special prices on the pitchblack right now, which makes it even more interesting.
My question: i discovered the pitchblack+ that has many features, one of them is having two inputs.
Could I use it to keep my 2 basses plugged in (or bass+guitar) during a live show or will that cause some problems (like unwanted noises even with volume turned down)? The pitchblack+ would be "only" 89$ instead of 69$ for the regular pitchblack.

Yes, that is exactly what the function is for. I bought the PB+, and I am very happy with the function of it. It is VERY accurate and fairly quick. It works great with my fivers on the B.
If I had any beef at all with it it is the size. It is about five inches square. That's twice the width of the turbo tuner.
