  1. There's a single malt scotch thread so I figure we can all tell our bourbon stories too. I've also been liking a little less "Tak aff your dram!" and a little more "yeeee haw" in my booze these days. :D

My absolute favorite right now is Breckenridge, and my go-to is Bulleit Rye. You?

I was hoping someone would start a bourbon thread. I'm really liking Eagle Rare bourbon. It's so smooth it melts in your mouth.
For hanging out with the band and just jamming, I'm good with Jack Daniels and Gentleman Jack.

What would be good bourbons to start? I think I'm not a sour-mash fan but I've only had cheap stuff using it so I can't really tell. Heck, I don't even know if it's sour-mash I dislike or the actual drinks I had.

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind next time I'm in an establishment with a proper selection.

Knob Creek. Basil Haydens. Breckenridge. Stranahans. Woodford Reserve. Booker's. Makers Mark.
    Just to name a few.
  8. Maker's Mark when I'm feeling fancy,
    Old Crow when I'm not.

Blanton's looks good. Is it very pricey?

Eagle Rare donates money to our military guys and gals. That's a plus for me.

Heck, I have to try all the bourbons listed. Thanks for the suggestions.
  11. Jim Beam is kinda the normal starter Bourbon. Not bad, but meh. If you're looking for something different then maybe Woodford Reserve... I still drink it & smile. Bulleit is pretty smooth & not much money as well.

I like your thinking here. :D I like Scotch quite allot but like Burbon better. Eagle rare is a big fav as well is Blanton's, Rare breed, Bulliet. Try the 4 roses stuff.... very good and Evan Williams single barrel is yummy.

I got into work today and there is a fith of Beam Red Stag sitting here all for me. I don't normally drink mixed blended Bourbon's or whiskey but this stuff is a treat ,sweet, smooth and very good.

After growing up in Bourbon country(Louisville) and making my way through all Bourbons and most other assorted whiskeys, when it comes to Bourbon, Blanton's is the one for me. Followed by Buffalo Trace.

So far, Makers is my favorite, followed by Knob Creek.

An inexpensive bourbon that I like is Evan Williams.

    I'll second that!

    I like Beam as well.

If I'm spending the money Makers Mark, or Knob Creek get the job done.

Basil Hayden's is nice, small batch, not terribly expensive but very tasty.

Agree but Eagle Rare and Bulliet are awesome and pretty cheap too. Eagle Rare and Evan could be my fav's over all the expenisve burbons I have had.
