Double Bass bow makers..

The stupidest thing I did last summer was to play a Lipkins bow. Now that my eyes have been opened, I don't know what to do--I don't have enough gear to sell to raise that kind of money, and one man can only sell so much plasma. Sure was nice to play on...

I know a couple of people who play those thousand-dollar Schicker bows that Lemur sells, and they seem to be all right. They won't win any awards (I haughtily say, with my hunk-o-junk $300 bow in hand), but the price is right and Lemur will send you five or so to play on and choose among.

Hey even though I am awaiting a Lipkins bow myself. I did try a reid Hudson bow on several occassions. He comes a close second for me. There is a lot of buzz about this Jean Grunberger in Utah as well.

Hello everybody,

I am auditioning this bow right now. By the looks I would say it's about 40 year old. It is long 28", heavy, octagonal and has quite thick stick.
Does anybody have the idea what class this maker is(how much should I pay) and when was he working?
