Double Bass Bowing Passiones

Hi All,

So I received some passione starks and I absolutely love the sound of these strings... Dark strings on a dark bass? Who would have thought... However these strings have a really nice clarity to them that makes them clear and dark, not muddy.

Right now I have a bow equiped with black hair and im using Kolstein soft, the sound of the strings are crapping out in TP and I can't figure out what it is, could it be the stuff im using with my bow? Too much stick?

I absolutely love the middle and high end though, it is really beautiful, finally found my favorite C string, heck even my favorite A and D too... The high G is just not fun!

I've never been an arco player, but a bassist friend was recommending Carlsson rosin to me, if I wanted to try the stick.
Kolstein also has an "All-weather" bass rosin grade. (and also a "Hard" one)

I like Kolstein All-Weather a bit more than Nymans.
Petz Premium (!) is also good, but might be more easily available on this side of the "big lake".
