Hi all what may cause the middle finger moving away from the ferrule, and onto the hair of the bow, please, and how can this be corrected? particularly as this seems to come more naturally to me? The ring fingers ends up on the ferrule, particularly on fast passages. Thank you

I work with a big band, and I find that some jazz charts call for the bow on certain passages. It's not uncommon to see four pizz quarter notes in one bar and an arco whole note in the next. What's your strategy for playing those transitions?
