Brett Favre Retires

The latest brouhaha may have indeed been generated primarily by the media, BUT that doesn't nullify the fact that Farve is a TOOL in two ways;

1. He hasn't shown up to camp (No helping younger guys, etc)

2. He didn't STOP the BS the media started because of his insatiable need to be "The darling of the NFL". He eats up the a$$ kissing "Oh Brett, please grace us with your presence for another year PLEEAASSEE"

Irreguardless who started it this time, Farve's still a TOOL!:rollno:.

Who I believe will physically deteriorate by week 6.

God Bless, Ray

*Regardless

I'd like to add to your list: He definitely ate up the *** kissing he got from his teammates

Favre - Hey guys, yeah, my ankle's not feelin' right....I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be callin' it a career, y'all

Minions - "R ya sure, Brett? Come on, man we need you!"

Favre - "No, no, guys, I'm pretty sure this is it."

Minions - "Aw dude! Bro! Money! We need ya' man! We got so close last season!"

Favre - "Wha? No, I never said I was gon' retire. I gotta see how my ankle feels. If I'm ready, I'll play. Maybe. Stay tuned!"

Exactly. The claim that Favre has nothing to do with the latest brouhaha is simply false.

On another note, I love how so many have become grammar nazis lately--I like having company.:D

DING!!!!!

.......I still say he has the physical ability to play football, but he's NOT an NFL-caliber QB.

Probably not. But he isn't the type of kid who will let his NFL career define the rest of his life.

I enjoyed watching him play in college, and will enjoy whatever run he has in the NFL. Some of you will get a twisted enjoyment over watching him "fail" by your standards. Whatever.

Dude tweets his teammates: "This is it."

Then he vanishes for 3-4 days.

Right, the media had NO REASON to go nuts...

:scowl:

...he did that specifically to get the media wound up and talking about HIM, and if you don't get that, you're either completely clueless, or you're such a FAR-VUH homer you can't think straight to start with on the topic.

On another note, I love how so many have become grammar nazis lately--I like having company.:D

Someone has to try and save coherent speech and hopefully by association, thinking...

...personally, I think we're all tilting at windmills -

Fixed That ;)

I don't think it has a whole lot to do with his TEAM/TEAMMATES, if that were the case he'd be there now helping said TEAM in the meetings, on the practice field and other ways that don't require him ACTUALLY playing.

I believe it to be nothing more than self aggrandizing "I'm the best, NFL, beg me to remain here".

It's the NFL and subsequent media that gets his rocks off, not his team. He has no idea of the concept of team. That's overly evident.

I don't care either way, succeed or fail, when it comes to Timmy. My issue isn't so much with him (no, I don't like him personally for various reasons - HYPOCRITE :rollno: - but that has no bearing on his ability as an athlete, which is undeniable.), as it is with the media and fans that are just convinced he's going to be "special".

He may be.

But NOT as an NFL QB.

Gard, your picture should be next to the word contradiction in the dictionary when referring to anything even remotely related to an NFL topic.

Seriously. I can't keep up. I post my comment, come back later, and then I have to reply again to something totally different.....from the same guy. :D

We love ya Gard. You make the NFL discussions here fun. Sometimes frustrating, but overall fun.

-Mike

......the legion of people that think he will be some kind of new, improved version of an NFL QB.

Outside of Gainesville, where is the legion of people saying this? Most everything I read from NFL people think the same as you and I.....marginal career if in the right spot on the right team, probably not as a full fledged QB, but a hybrid position or some kind of RB.

No, he's better than just "NFL-caliber".

He's only one of the top ten in the league as soon as he sets foot on the field! He's BETTER than the average NFL quarterback even at his age.

You may now resume your relentless Favre bashing. :D

This is one of the most truly funny things I've read in quite some time. :D

Really???

I can name at least 15 guys I'd choose over Timmy, and I'll spot you the top 3 out the gate (Brees, Brady, P. Manning).

Starting with this one:

You may now resume your relentless Favre bashing. :D

FAR-VUH is a douchebag of a human being, but he's a pretty fair QB, and even at his advanced age, he's much better than Tebow at QB.

The rest, in no particular order (not necessary to rank 'em, they're all above Tebow):

McNabb
Kolb
Schaub
Cassel
Rivers
Romo (I gagged a bit there)
Cutler
Palmer
Flacco
Ryan
E. Manning
Rogers (it'd be more fair for me to remove him, he's almost equal with the three I pulled)
Roethlisberger (yeah, he's a POS as a person, but he's a better QB than Tebow will ever be)
Henne
Orton

I can keep going....

;)

You may gag but Tony had the best year of ANY Dallas QB last year ;)

You may not dig him, but he's a pretty good QB. Even your Coach Payton thought so.

:D

But I agree on Farve.

2 things. Only 15? and I liked the Schaub pick.

Also i'll add
Hasselbeck
Sanchez

As for Rookie Qbs
Mccoy (:))
Pike
Clausen
Bradford ()

So I guess that makes it 3 things.

I did say "at least 15" not just "15". ;)

I agree on Hasselback, Sanchez...maybe...he has potential.

I agree about all 4 of the rookies as well, they'll all make better NFL QB's than Tebow. I was actually hoping the Saints would pick Pike up....
