Eh...

...FAR-VUH is a great QB, never denied his ability as a player. I question his decision making (he ended his career with three different teams with INT's, and if he does decide to retire this year, he'll make his last pass with FOUR teams INT's), and can speak from direct personal experience to his lack of decency as a PERSON. He'll make it into the HOF on the first ballot he is eligible, and he'll deserve it. Same about Ty Cobb - not a decent person, but great baseball player, so in he went.

As for Tebow, my patience with his "type" is thin (I won't get into detail, as it will violate TB rules), but he does seem at least mostly genuine and hardworking. He still isn't going to be a quality NFL QB, no matter what the UF fanboi contingent thinks. He has the WRONG skill set for the gig. Not saying he won't be successful, just he won't be a top-level QB in professional American football.

You are certainly asking the right question about Tebow: whether the skill set fits. I suspect we'll start seeing some answers before the end of this season...because I'm confident that Denver will get him on the field for a limited number of plays in some role.

I know nothing of Tebow, but for some reson the guy reminds me of Jared from the Subway commercials. Kinda girlish IMO. I don't think he'd be assertive enough to be a NFL starting QB. He doesn't have the neccessary swagger. All IMO of course.

I think it's quite premature to say he's not an NFL caliber QB. At this point, we can say that he's unproven and his style of play will have to change radically to succeed in the NFL, but there is absolutely no evidence that he's not an NFL caliber QB because he has never taken a snap in the pros.

I'll need to investigate. I never cared too much for Denver's prospects since the majority of Dallas' aging players started going there to end their careers.

I AM serious in that I think he comes across girlie. By that I mean he seems shy and humble, and IMO a little too shy to command an NFL offense.

Keep in mind though, I've never seen him play. We get flogged here in Georgia if we even watch Florida football

And as far as him stuffing Romo in a trashcan, lets see him get and keep a starting job in the NFL, THEN I'd bet he'd be getting stuffed.

And if Gard's anywhere near right on his capability, he may be able to start for Oakland in a year or two.

A lot of local/SEC media seem to think that here. Not to mention the homers, but this is SEC country, so we have a lot of those. And I've see about 30 Bronco-Gater shirts, so I'm going to assume all of those people carry the same opinion.

Plus its been on NFL network and some sports blogs and the like.

How many guys come out of college with the required skillset to be "the man" as an NFL QB? Pieces and parts of that skillset, all of them. The complete package, none.

I've played football with a lot of guys who looked like guys who could play on Sunday, only a few did.

As far as the people you cited, well of course the Gator homers think so. You've probably got a handful of the same folks in Knoxville who think Eric Berry will dethrone Ronnie Lott as the best safety to ever play the game.

Regarding the others, I haven't see any of that myself, but I'll take your word for it. You don't seem like the lying type.

If you want to say he's not an NFL quality QB, it's only because he hasn't played in a single game. It's equally valid to say there is no evidence he is NOT, because he hasn't played in a single NFL game.

Zero record = zero data.

After one game, he may indeed be an NFL quality QB. That would be if the game is a win.
