But the guy's known as a leader on the field and in the locker room, both by example (at UF, he outworked everybody in the weight room) and through words when necessary. Keep in mind though, I've never seen him play. We get flogged here in Georgia if we even watch Florida football
And as far as him stuffing Romo in a trashcan, lets see him get and keep a starting job in the NFL, THEN I'd bet he'd be getting stuffed.
And if Gard's anywhere near right on his capability, he may be able to start for Oakland in a year or two.

How many guys come out of college with the required skillset to be "the man" as an NFL QB? Pieces and parts of that skillset, all of them. The complete package, none.
I've played football with a lot of guys who looked like guys who could play on Sunday, only a few did.
As far as the people you cited, well of course the Gator homers think so. You've probably got a handful of the same folks in Knoxville who think Eric Berry will dethrone Ronnie Lott as the best safety to ever play the game.
Regarding the others, I haven't see any of that myself, but I'll take your word for it. You don't seem like the lying type.

Meh, when Eric left we had way more pressing issues to deal with (like sending the lynch mobs looking for Kiffin home).
Tebow has some good pieces, but there is a lot of polishing needed. He can run, he has a good work ethic, and he won't (presumably) get into trouble. That alone might keep him in the league long enough to develop as a player. As far as the guys that have the "total" package and then bust, usually those players lack things like work ethic, or get a paycheck and become lazy or develop off field issues.. Russell is a great example of that.
Yup, I agree. The mental side of professional football is often overlooked by players and even more fans.
Yogi Berra said "baseball is 90 percent mental; the other half is physical." It applies to football as well.

Go ahead and be mad about Ben and the Adams signing, but that comment is a bit extreme. The Steelers have also made some tough decisions in the last couple years indicating they are still adhering to what is "right". But I'm not here to argue with you or try and change your mind.
You won't get any "you're not a real fan" speeches out of me, so don't wory about that bro. Maybe you'll come back around, maybe you won't. Either way, you're still a'ight in my book.
Make sure you let us all know who you pick as your new team so we can harass you when they lose or play one of our teams.

That comment might be extreme, as of now. I'll give ya that. It's a slippery slope though, and Tomlin (to me) has no morals whatsoever.
As of now, I'm leaning towards the Pack or the Jets. Green Bay has always had a similar philosophy to Pittsburgh, and I like that. With the Jets, I really like Sanchez, and think they are quite legit as it is. Sanchez has some massive potential to be a long-term monster, me thinks. Revis not being there (that's what it's lookin' like) will hurt, but I like the way the team is run, and that sincerely means more to me than winning. Christ, The Raiders have ZERO morals whatsoever, and they still can barely win a game!!!
Also, being that I lived in Denver, I have a soft spot for them. Being that Josh McHoodie trained under Belicheat, I have a *real* hard time aligning with them, however.I've been a Steeler fan as long as I can remember dude. I've also had an incredibly negative view of criminals for as long as I can remember. By negative, I mean I pretty much support Riyadh type capital punishment negative view. That the Steelers (my beloved team) has slowly been eroding into not only retaining sleaze (i.e. Reed and Roethlisberger), but signing purebred trash (i.e. Adams) cannot allow me to continue to root for them. Christ, 10 years ago they cut Morris for a weed possession.
There are those few Steelers I'll always love (Ward, Polamalu, et al), but the team overall is going to hell in a handbasket! lol

That was a filthy play, I'll give ya that. I think almost *every* NFL player has had a a dirty play somewhere in their past. I think, overall, Troy is a clean, but vicious player. At least in the NFL. I've never been a college fan, so I cannot speak for his USC time.
I've gotten to where I watch the college game more than the pro game because of the amateur athlete facade.
And I agree, I've seen a dirty play or two out of most players.
That went beyond dirty, that was when the halo rule was in place so not only did he disregard the rules by about 5 yards, but then he helmet to helmet'ed an unprotected player.
That's something that should get you ejected, and yes, that earns you a dirty player award in my book. That's not his only dirty play, a lot of his "big hits" compilations on youtube feature dirty plays and extremely close to being late hits on unprotected receivers.
Granted he doesn't have Flozell's resume, nor does he have the notoriety of Shanahan's Broncos and their chop blocks, crackbacks, and clips, but he certainly plays "vicious" football.

He's not going to be a QB in the NFL and have success. Period. JaMarcus Russell had a better shot at being successful than Tebow in the pros, he at least had the correct throwing motion. He did, however lack anything like the brain required, and his work ethic was unbelievably bad.
Pilgrim's comment about him being a "top 10 QB the day he steps on the field" is one of the most hilarious things I've ever read here.
The dude is a good, probably great, athlete. He does not possess what is necessary to work as a QB in a pro-style NFL offense, wrong mechanics, wrong everything.
If Denver has any sense, they'll make an H-back out of him, and occasionally run some kind of wildcat formation with him. He had great physical skills, and a lot of heart, with a real strong work ethic. If he puts his mind to being a successful NFL player, at whatever position the team feels he is suited for, he will do fine.
If they try to force his square peg into a round hole and make an actual full time QB out of him, they will be teaching a pig to sing.

My comment was directed at Ray when he said he came off as too girlie and too shy to command an offense.
That'd be a dirty play even in the NFL, since he hit him before the ball even got to him.
...so....what you guys are saying is that Tebow is an animatronic pig with some CGI thrown in to cover up the bad spots?
