Brian Bromberg Carvin Model Part 2

Let me explain a bit more. While I love the thump of a P-Bass, I'd like to be able to get more modern sounds. I want to open up the box of crayons rather then just use a black marker. I may have to sell the P to get the B2. I just want to make sure I don't totally lose something to gain something else. Make sense?

Totally makes sense.

IMHO, the B24 is the large box of crayons. With the sharpener built in.

I am droooling over this bass:

It isn't the color I was thinking of (moss green quilt with blackburst edges) nor the fretboard (ebony) but I mean, damn! I'm pretty certain I could be happy with that for a long time!

As of yesterday, I have two B25Ps in the works; a fretted and a fretless!

The fretted with be Alder body, 5 piece maple neck, Quilted maple top with "deep orange burst finish", full top, satin finish neck, black hardware, single coils with the piezo feature, ebony board and stainless steel medium frets.

The fretless will be Mahogany body, 5 piece maple/walnut neck, Quilted maple top, natural "deep triple step" finish, full top, satin finish neck, ebony board with lines and the "hard as nails" finish, black hardware, humbuckers with the piezo feature.

It should be about 9 weeks to finish both! I'll be sure and post pics as soon as they arrive.

Looking forward to the pics when you get! Those sound nice!

As always, I'm late to the party, but so GLAD I made it.

A bit of history ... I met Brian in Concord, CA (perhaps it was actually Pleasant Hill, people from the area will understand my confusion). This was probably '93 ...

It was at a small music store called Guitars Plus. Brian was putting on a clinic to promote his Peavey B Quad 4.

He demo'd it and I was blown away by his playing. I was also blown away by Brian the person.

I bought his self titled CD "Brian Bromberg" and he autographed it for me. I just played it this morning and showed off the autograph to my wife. He even included his signature figure 8 bass graphic which can be the 12th fret marker on his new Carvin bass.

Wait, the story gets better!

I ended up buying a B Quad 4 that evening, according to Brian and the store manager it was the first sale of this new bass. Photos were taken of me, Brian, the B Quad 4 and the store manager (I regret I forget his name! :( I bought quite a bit of gear from him when I lived there).

These photos were to be published in Peavey Monitor, though I never did see them so not sure if they were or not.

I ultimately and stupidly sold this bass. It was a monster and I remember showing it off/bragging about it every chance I got. :) It was the most money I had EVER paid for any instrument up to that point, but in all honesty, I still think it was one of the best values for me personally.

Now, to find out Brian has a new bass with Carvin, well suffice it to say the fires of GAS are burning hot in me now!

Thank you Brian and thanks to all for these two awesome threads here!

I would REALLY love to see a walnut topped B24/B25! I just went through the 7 page customizing tool at carvin.com and I am a huge fan of walnut.
