Ok one more question. Is the piezo bridge worth the extra $100? I have never used one and there is not much I can find on it.

What a stunning instrument. You have good taste, my friend!
I had never seen or heard of black veneer being an option, but this looks so seriously good. It will definitely be requested on the next Carvin bass I order!
Hey Fit4pain, the piezo option is really cool if you like a more organic sounding option. Meaning when you pan the pick-ups to just the piezo side, the bass completely changes character and almost sounds acoustic. Certainly not really acoustic but it does have some acoustic characteristics. If you play in a band that plays some country or folk-ish type music, but also throws down with more groove, pop, funk stuff then it truly is amazing to have a bass that is that versatile sounding without having to change basses for a tune or two in a set.
The piezo can also really shine on a fretless bass. I have piezos on both my fretless B24 and B25 basses and I love them.
If you never play more Americana or earthy acoustic type music then you might not need them. They can be cool for slapping and tapping as they have instantaneous physical response, but they are most definitely an acquired taste and only needed if you like what they do.
I have both piezo and non-piezo fretted B24's and B25's. Hope that helps?.............B2

Just ordered my 2nd B25 from Luis at the Hollywood Store! I didn't have the budget to go bonkers this time, but I think I'll be very happy with this one: a blacked out, unlined Fretless:
- Maple Neck/Alder Body
- Jet Black
- Satin Matte Finish
- Fretless Ebony Fingerboard
- Ebony Fingerboard Black (No Streaking)
- Radiused Humbucker Pickups w/ Active/Passive Module
- Black Hardware
- Flat Wound Med Light
- Black Logo
- Dunlop Straplocks
I'm hoping the matte finish bass and the shiny black hardware play off each other in a cool way. Should look pretty sick, I think.
Now the 2 months of pain start....

Nice. A new one for me to try out! Let me know if you are around on Sunday and want to try the Wilkins.
Thanks guys, I'm hoping B2 drops into the forum in the near future to verify.
dgce - definitely not a push-pull Icon preamp
