Brian May is top 3 rock guitar players of all time and definitely top 2 best tone. John Mayer is the Hellman's mayonnaise of guitarist. No comparison.

Love the look. Love the pickup combo. I'm not worried about nut width because I assumed it came with one. No groupie ever told me I had a good nut width, add that to the list of things a guy like Brian May wouldn't care about. If the quality is good I'd dig it. Not crazy expensive.

^ This. Not for me either way (current model is pricy as it is), but a de luxe model with the three Burns p-ups and the whole wiring shebang is in order. IMO.

Let's see - 4 string, short scale, mudbucker and a single coil. It officially checks none of my boxes. I admire what Brian was able to do with his guitar - by all accounts of other people who have tried to play it, the original is essentially unplyable, yet Brian can play the snot out of it. Still, this offerening, I'll pass on.

They should've equipped it with 2 pcs bridge style like the original Red Special, though it doesn't need to have a tremolo bar, but it won't hurt if it could be put on and off.
