BMG is releasing what looks to be a 4 string bass based on his famous “Red Special” guitar. The BMG Bass
    Any thoughts?

The specs say the nut is 45mm / 1.34" - which is garbled. I think they might mean 45mm / 1¾"

That’s been around for at least 5 years if not more.

I’ve had G.A.S. lurking in my bowels for quite sometime ever since I first saw that website.

And now you go and get the G.A.S. going again. :D

Seriously, I am interested in one but have been waiting to read some reviews from TB from people who actually have one.

I expect the Brian May acolytes will nod approvingly.

  8. Someone posted a Dillion Brian May bass copy IIRC a while ago. it looked so much better than the BMG version.

*googles* Hmm, those look cool too, but I think I'd rather have the mudbucker and bridge SC setup than 3 SCs.

  10. Pickup-wise it reminds me of my old Ovation Magnum.

Korea. $1,050 in American dollars. A little high IMHO.

Without even looking I already had the impression it was going to mirror his guitar.

Looks kinda cool though but the price is sort of steep in my opinion.

I'm fairly certain that is where the similarity ends...Magnums were one of the most serious basses ever built, IMO.

Agreed. It would make for an interesting project base if the price were significantly lower. Oh well...

I actually like the aesthetics outside the context of this being a Brian May item.

Not a fan of the price.

Can't seem to find "Brian May" in the Big Book of Bass.
Is he a bassist, a luthier?
