Just out of curiousity anyone knows if it's still with him or if it's out there?
This is just a guess. He played everything. So I imagine he wasn't a "bass dork" and didn't really care about keeping the same bass for decades. A bass was just a tool to get the job done. We here are mostly bassists only. So basses are really important to most of us. He probably went through several and didn't care what happened to the one that he recorded any given song with or toured with. In fact, probably a lot of their later stuff was recorded by The Wrecking Crew ....likely Carol Kaye.
All guesses on my part with zero evidence or particular knowledge of his history or gear. I could be 180 degrees wrong.
Glen Campbell replaced Brian for six months while he was on break in 1967-68ish. Played bass and sung Brian's parts. Wonder if he supplied his own bass or used Brian's?
