Bright Flats?

Hey T I've been a hardcore TI Flat user for years and that's kinda what I judge all flats against. I just put a set of Fender 9050 45-100's on a P Bass and am seriously impressed. More tension than the TI's but still supple and smooth feeling, bright but you wouldn't mistake them for rounds and they're $25 on the wall at L&M.

What's L&M?

I assume it's a music shop?

I've got the Fender Flats on my Fast Bass and like them a lot
Fender Flats on my active Fish Bass.....very nice
I've got Labellas on my Club Bass, like them a lot also but might try something else later just for fun
Had GHS Precision Flats on my Warwick Corvette Standard and that was a stellar combo

I have a question, how much of the Roto77s initial brightness do they lose after being broke in? Do they stay brighter than Chromes/Fender/Sadowsky after they're broken in?

I'm thinking of getting something with a lower tension feel.

Might be time to give the TI J344s another try, but I am not paying new prices if I can avoid it.

I haven't tried the TI's yet although I'd like too.....with the low tension I'm afraid that with a short scale bass that would lower the tension even more....will you be putting them on your Stambaugh?

I like Brite Flats a lot. I have them on two basses right now. They don't chew up my fingers, frets and most importantly, my fretless boards.

Yup. However, I've never had a problem with too low tension on a shortscale bass. Mine's a string thru body if that makes a difference.
