I may not've worded everything just right there, but the point was (or was supposed to be anyway), take a great player playing through a behringer and a mediocre player playing through a bergantino, and the audience will gravitate towards the great players playing through the crap gear every time.I doubt your last comment.
Of course, if the great player gets great gear also, it's even more better, but I've never seen or heard of a great player needing top gear to sound good.
PS. This is not an endorsement of crappy gear...especially B******er. Just saying, if you can't plug into whatever's around and sound good, you're not actually "good".
