Probably money well spent.
Anybody else feel like turning on the RFE (with all filters as far off as they can be, no resonance, flat mids) kinda robs their tone of something? I've used HPFs and LPFs before and this is different. The moment I turn on my RFE, it just feels like I lose some meat in the sound.
Well isn't it pulling resonance from the tone full counter? It's not 0 but -3, eventhough, I know it states that would be like a normal hpf but I bet 0, if you can find it, would be more neutral
It's my understanding that the corner frequency of an HPF without resonance is generally -3dB, and setting it to 0dB does add slight resonance above the corner.
Hmm, then I dunno. I'm with you though, I never could find a neutral setting so when toggling on and off it definitely was different

Yes! I thought it was just me. I had the HPF/LPF pedal before getting the RFE. But I didn't have them at the same time to compare them, unfortunately. But in my head, at least, with the resonances fully counter-clockwise and setting the HPF and LPF of the RFE to the same relative position that I would set them to on the HPF/LPF pedal yields different results than I anticipated. Unless it's just an auditory illusion. Either way, I want the resonance, particularly on the HPF, so it's a moot point. But it did also strike me as odd, especially since the description on the site says, "The -3dB setting is what you would expect from a standard, non-resonant filter. Adding resonance to the filters boosts the level of the cutoff frequency. The filters have a slope of -12 dB/octave. The filters are the same in performance to the other standard Broughton filters, with the added ability of increasing resonance."

Yeah. Had one for a minute but ultimately let it go. If "always present hair" is your thing, it is pretty cool.

You should. Don't get me wrong, I dig a little hair from time to time (ironically I'm bald) but I prefer the ability to engage/disengage the sizzle.
