Still waiting for the Locust Star to drop. I’m not in a hurry, but the daily reloads are starting to influence my Safari autocomplete recommendations.
Incidentally, questions for users of the Low Pass Filter pedal: I’m considering ordering one as sort-of a cab sim when going direct (my main band has decided to go ampless). Does this work? I was thinking about keeping it always-on at about 5 kHz to tame the harshness from my fret clanking some. I already use HPF on all my boards, and the Diamond Bass Comp’s mids dial can provide the low-mids hump I’m also after to sound more “cab-ish”.

Ditto. The initial estimate was Feb, now it just says coming soon. Literally the one and only Broughton pedal I want...for now

I think I’ve come to the conclusion that I prefer basses with one pickup. With the exception of a rickenbacker of course.
having the space to move my hand around freely without anything in the way is nice. And it’s fun to move around altering the tone.
I’ve also reaffirmed I’m not a jazz bass guy. I much prefer a rickenbacker to a jazz bass.

Real talk, looking for honest opinions— if I already have an always on Broughton HPF (at the start of my chain) should I buy a HPF/LPF combination pedal for the end of my chain? Would this be (gasp!) overkill?

No, IMHO another on the other end would be fine. I found that setup to be overkill. Running 2 separate HPFs at different points in the signal chain seemed to take something away from my tone, so I just stick with the HPF at the start.
I also don't really like the sound of the LPF side. It seems to cut some high end presence even with the pass filter rolled all the way up.

Actually that's what I have on my board at the moment, works well.

Since the Messenger has the LPF/HPF built in.

Just received the Messenger v2 and all I gotta say is wow. It's an awesome pedal. I really like being able to bypass the EQ, that's a thing the Enabler I used can't do that really stands out when comparing the 2. The headphone amp is pretty much equal or even slightly better on the Messenger I would say. It will definitely have its place settled at the end of my signal chain. And the DI out is on the good side..! Gotta try it at 18v now..
Where do you guys leave the volume knob of the p15 when you want a clean tone with a passive bass?
I love the hair it gives, but it seems to break up rather early (around 12 a clock with a pbass) If i want it totally clean i have to cut it back to 10/11 ish and bump up the gain quite a bit on the receiving device (SSL interface).
