Yeah it just high passes what frequencies hit the compressor. It is an amazing feature on a comp. Especially for bassists.

Nice! I’ve gigged with exactly that setup before, only with Studio One instead of messenger.
SVPre and Silver Deluxe at the same time are the secret sauce in a live environment.SVPre with mid boost as desired, and SD smoothing everything over. Takes a bit of fiddling to get right, but once you do... Flavourtown!

If you don't need the added gain of the HPF/LPF, separate HPFs and LPFs can be placed wherever you need them in your chain. Some folks prefer to have the HPF first and the LPF last. Cost is the same if you go with the always on HPF.
