Also, all of this runs into a SansAmp RBI -> into the front of my 400RB.

I have a Cali76 Compact Bass on the way (should be here tomorrow!) so gonna need to figure out where to place that as well. Wondering if having an HPF/LPF next to the compressor towards the end would be “too much” or even helpful. Life is hard

Correct me if I am wrong...but I don't see any octave pedals or synth pedals on your board (pedals creating sub lows)...so I am thinking that you might not need second HPF...you should be ok with just LPF at the end of your signal chain...

I have a Valeton OC-2 clone, not pictured.. actually forgot about it— thanks for reminding me!
Will probably place that just after the always on HPF

Congrats to everyone who got an Archetype! I actually saw them available for a second, but I was at work (well, and I neither want nor need a $850 tube preamp). I'd love to see the Archetype thing in a smaller format, though I guess the magic of it is in the transformer and big fat caps.

I haven't had a lot of Broughton on the board lately, but I'm gonna try this combo at jam tonight. Just lovely!

That should do nicely. I recommend trying the compression up a bit higher and compensating for the squash with the dry level.

I have a feeling a good deal of the magic is involved within the mid drive and the inductor style EQ, inductors in EQs can saturate the tone in similar ways the tranny in neve gain stages can (S1,SB), this is probably some of the compressor traits mentioned in the advert, low hz saturation - I'm sure that's possible in the pedal format. Either way, its going to be amazing I'm sure

I was really bummed out when I saw that the Archetype was sold out, but then a cool sense of relief overcame when I saw the price of the unit, because I would've dug into my savings account to get one

Noted. The Cali has an HPF of some sort built in & I was planning on putting that last (or close to last..)
I guess the real question is can I defeat the HPF in the HPF-LPF Broughton or maybe spring for the standalone LPF if the Cali does the HPF trick as well?

The Cali HPF is in its side chain. It does not high pass the signal coming out of the pedal.
