That’s actually what I like about the Nickel Rotosounds. They break in fairly quickly, for me 1-2 weeks of playing, and then stay pretty much the same for the next 2-3 months. I’d rather have strings that have a consistent tone over most of their lifespan, but lose sparkle (for lack of a better word) quickly, than strings that shine 1-2 weeks longer, but deteriorate more and more afterwards.
Mind, the clank issue I mentioned above and why I ordered a LPF only has little to do with that break-in period. It accentuates it, naturally, but I hope the Broughton will also help me control the amount of FOH clank better over those 2-3 months following the 1-2 weeks of super-harshness.
