They were all near Noon. I wiped it down with a microfiber cloth just to spread microfiber lint everywhere as you can see in my pictures. Black amps are like black cars. They are hard to keep clean but boy do they look incredible when they are clean!

It matches the P15 real nice, but you have to wonder what all these preamps would look like if hammered finish was still around

OK, let’s go for it. After installing fresh strings my clank got so harsh it was painful via our rehearsal PA. Not to mention the compressor got triggered far too often / early for my liking. Nothing I could do with my EQ options, and let’s just say our PA is pretty bare-bones. So LPF it is. Order placed. Let’s see what this little buddy can do for me.

I always use a LPF. Great for taming overly bright strings or fizzy overdrives.

Curious to here what bass you are using. I’d guess an active bass without a tone knob. Apologies if you stated what kind previously.

I've become quite fond of the LPF on the Messenger DI. I don't know that I could ever go back to not using one.

Na, passive Sandberg VS4, a P-style bass. And yes, using the Tone knob is what tides me over at the moment, but I need to close Tone down completely for the harshness to be bearable, at least until the strings are broken in a lot more. Which also costs loads of desirable high-end, for me. As the harshness isn’t an issue via my (tweeter-less) cabs, only in the direct signal, I figure an LPF somewhere between 3.5 - 5 kHz should do the trick.

And if not, hey, MORE BROUGHTON. :D

Does your Sandberg have the large magnet Delano-style pickups? Those are pretty raspy if I recall.
