Broughton Audio Super Thread

Curious if anyone out there would want to trade your Calamity for my Bass Box? PM me.
To anyone out there who may be considering this trade, I would never dare to say one is better than the other, because, you know, fuzz. But I feel confident in my declaration that the Calamity resides more in the traditional realm of fuzz tones, while the Bass Box is more of an outlier. I recommend having both.

So … because I got impatient waiting for the Locust Star, I ordered a Damnation Audio MBD2 instead. Which has now been held in customs for two weeks due to reasons unknown, so I check the Broughton website, and … the LS hasn’t dropped yet?

USPS and Swiss Customs really want to stoke my Broughton fetish, don’t they?

I think I've bounced back and forth from 9 and 12 but its one of those I never really had to go high, probably because of how the drive reacts, he states its 9-24 though so I guess you could if you had too, its first in line when I run it

I thought I remembered reading somewhere on the product page that you can run it 9-24 But that it did not make a difference in the sound of the pedal. Could be wrong about that.

I stupidly traded mine away for another Broughton that I ended up not loving and selling. REGRETS!! lol. So I ended up losing a pedal I really liked in at the end of the day having one less broughton on the board. Lesson learned tho. But yeah, if Josh were ever to make these again I would stay up all night f5ing.

Everything I’ve read a the PLL is true. You cannot produce the same sound twice. By far the whackiest Broughton pedal of all or at least I’ve used.
I’d second the whackiest nomination.

Signal Cypher can get close, as can the Dream Crusher, but the PLL is still king unless there’s some oddball one off I haven’t heard of...

While the glissing, glitching, harmonic cacophony can be wildly entertaining and inspiring, don’t overlook the endlessly variable “musical” sounds to be found. The PLL offers some amazing rewards if you put in the work.
