Broughton Audio Super Thread

Solo 18 does the trick for me.
I’m using Velcro on mine, top and bottom.
I have the iec module on one side and the 4x module on the other which works great since the board is dual output.
I like the light strip thing they have too for a little spaceship glow from underneath because why notView attachment 4880292 View attachment 4880294
I'm still swinging with Velcro on Pedaltrains, Metro 16 on my main board.

But the Temple Audio stuff has me intrigued. If I get it right, you strap stuff down with plates you mount your pedals on, and then they lock on the board?

I'm mostly intrigued because of the power cable routing possible with the Temple boards. You won't believe the mess beneath the board above.

How do you like that super 200?
Was eying that one last week and almost pulled the trigger.

Instead of attaching Velcro, you stick a metal plate with a screw hole to the bottom of the pedal, and then screw it in from under the board. The plate has tiny little legs that fit snugly into small circular notches in the board, so everything feels really secure.

It also has spaces along the edges underneath for you to route and mount cables.

Nice board. The mounting plates are one part of it, but they also offer proprietary "MOD" panels that mount to recessed openings on the side of the board, which is what really grabbed me. They have different MODs for FX Loops, 1/4" and XLR patch panels, DIs, and an actual CIOKS power supply.

I have the CIOKS Hi5 MOD on mine and it seems solid so far. If/when I ever get around to picking up guitar again, I think they make a dedicated patch bay MOD for setting up an amp FX loop chain on separate In/Out mounted conveniently on the side of the board. I think one of the patch bays will actually automatically switch your FX Loop pedals to in-line if you don't plug in the send/return to the amp.

Thanks for the Temple Audio info! Much appreciated! The mods sound sensible; I usually roll with Truetone PSU, but that should work, as far as a quick google tells me. Definitely looking into it. Cheers.

(Sound sample and gut shot after that post.)

In short, and in regards to Broughton; the Super Two Hundred replaced the SV-Pre from my main board. I've always been more of an Orange than an Ampeg guy, so, yeah. The SV-Pre is more versatile with its semi-parametric EQ and whatnot, but I'm a sucker for that Orange tone. Having pretty much an AD200 on a pedal board, including some semblance of power tube saturation simulation, well. Was a very quick decision.

Loving this combo,

The Omni is one of those pedals that makes you sound better in a subtle way, without imparting any tone, that you immediately notice when you turn it off. It makes you more "present".
That, into some tubey goodness, gets me a solid clean tone, making anything I feed it sound better.

I can't agree more. I have a DiY Space Heater build and it sounds great with the Omni in front.

Btw..my Omni settings are exactly the same as yours.
Space Heater settings are pretty close as well, but that's moot considering your cooking a 12AT7 inside vs my 12AX7.

Report: I've never tried the Doom 2 into the Joshwah until now. This was a mistake-- holy crap it sounds good.
The other day I was playing with Solarian>Doom2>Sentinel>BlueSky Reverb for some absolutely crushing tones. Unfortunately that combo won't be of much use on my Top 40 Country subbing gigs haha.

It works. I need to spend more time with it. Finding it hard to like anything other than the Apex for a long time now.
Ya, you might need more time with it. For me, the be-all, end-all has always been the Diamond Bass Comp. I used to play that Trace Elliot dual-comp pedal for years before I got the Diamond, but after that, well, all other comps were lost on me. I tried MXR, TC Electronics, Empress, EBS, Boss … and always came back to the Diamond.

That is, until I got the OmniComp. I haven't put the Diamond out to pasture just yet, but also haven't used it since then. No need, and no inclination.
