Okay, I had only done the quickest of searches, I guess I missed where it was posted before.

I had ended up looking at Rob Fahey's website and noticed Kevin as being in a band with him. It looked like it was some years ago. I didn't know he was currently or very recently doing it.

I thought the clip was cool to see.

I've actually found this whole experience very cool so far.

Seen this when Brad posted it in another Brute thread (iirc).

I've been to many of Kevin's gigs. He never ceases to impress me. I'd love to have just a tiny portion of his talent and skill.

So, no love for Kevin playing out?

I know there's much traffic and things get missed.

Sure thing Robear22. Nice bass and rig.

Is #13 cool with you?

J. Crawford - 1 (On Hiatus)
Supertanker - 2 (Retired)
a2zbassman - 3
orlando123 - 4
DaveTomasi - 5
JayCY - 6
coop - 7
vision - 8 (Retired)
stoneboy26 - 9
drpepper - 10
liquidsunshine -11
Billy Low - 12
Robear22 - 13

Sorry about that, I know some people aren't "club number people" - so I didn't want to assume.

Thanks that is fine and I am really loving the rig. A lot more portable.

I understand Dr. that some dudes are not with the numbers. I don't mind.

My plug problem has dispear as it came...:hyper:
Finally, I'm not that sure it's indispensable to change the pickups, witch got some punch, but I'm looking for a new pre. I'don't know anything about that, I'don't know at all what to look for...
If advice ...:hmm:

Kevin still performs with Rob. He has his own band too... The Drunken Uncles.

Very nice looking bass congrats!! I have the MJX-5 and did some mods on it to give me more flexiblility in tone. If you are happy now you may just want to try some things down the line in modification later because these basses are already great instruments and just the few little things I had done to mine gave me the original sound plus a great array of other tones too including Jazz bass, P bass, and Music Man/Ernie Ball tones just to mention a few. Just take your time deciding between what pickups or pre-amp you what if you even want to change the pre. I kept my original preamp because I like what I already have. Enjoy!

If only it was as easy as trying a bass, I would try a lotta pickups and pres.

Sooner or later, I thinck I'm gonna change both. The tone is good, clear, I'd like to see how cool could it be with a warmer , deeper neck pickup. I don't know, maybe Seymour duncan or a more fender typed sound .
You are satisfied with your Delano, don't you ?

I love my Delano (J-J JMVC 5 FE & 2 band pre) setup. But I wouldn't call it a warm or deep tone at all. I say it's Very bright, clean and punchy with awesome mids . . . very modern tone, if l had to describe it.

As far as my MJX goes, I'm still undecided on what upgrades I'll be installing.

Two days ago I went to a jam, I took the brute en pluged it then...no sound :hmm: still the same problem.:bawl:
Next day...no problem
Regardless I played on it at rehearsal and it definitly rocks ; the sound is percussive
.
I'm still thincking about changing the pre with another witch will give a mutch warmer tone. I'm thncking about an Aguilar obp 3.
I didnt try but I read some cool stuffs about it.

My Brute arrived yesterday....

Kevin is indeed still playing with Rob and the Drunken Uncles - he took over for me with Rob when I got married and moved to northern Virginia. I just got back to playing again and doing some fill-ins for Kevin with Rob again. For any Baltimore guys - original Ravyns bass player Lee Townsend is stopping by our gig tommorrow (Friday) at The Poplar Inn in Dundalk to sit in. He's a Baltimore bass legend and kick ass bass player - stop by!

I hadn't seen Kevin for awhile and stopped by his shop this week. I was blown away by the Brutes for their price point, but totally in love with his new Jazz Bass. Probably the best bass I've ever played, and almost enough to make me give up my 20 year old Spector NS-2. Of course now I just need to come up with a few extra grand! Here's the thread I started on the Brubaker Jazz:

I'd really like to have on JJx5, 599 +150 for a custom pickguard (white bass, purple burst to white pickguard) and shipping on top. Strung E-C...of course

Oh man, I'm saving my dimes!

and there's my FT thread in my sig if anyone... *shameless plug* hint hint :hiding:
