Bugera Bass Amps???

For the most part I'd agree but some guys also value their reputations VERY highly. Those individuals would not want their name associated with something that was bad. Now, I'm not saying that Doug and Vic aren't willing to take a check from some company. I do feel that each of them would much rather keep themselves in a position to earn MORE checks rather than just signing on for something that was clearly not very good quality....

The Bugera amps are fine. No worse than anything else in that price range and probably just as good as most amps costing more. I wasn't implying they're bad, just that isn't a big deal to see big name players using them at NAMM. I'd be much more impressed if those players endorsed and used them live and on the road.

I actually think they're better than their price point implies. I get what you are saying now that you provided the additional details. It would be cool if someone significant endorsed them in that manner but you know what? As long as they work, I could care less. I didn't really like them due to endorsements or dislike them due to the lack thereof.....

My main head is the Streamliner 900, but I have the Bugera as well. I'm selling it (here) because it's redundant and feel more confident with the SL.

That said the Bugera sounds GREAT. There's nothing bad I can say about it (even the compressor is nice). To be honest I never cranked it past 1:00 so haven't confirmed that it is or isn't 2+ times more powerful than the SL. I think the "nay" votes all make valid points, but some people probably would like the Bugera better.

The whole "Bugatti Veyron" - "Bugera Veyron" honestly disgusts me. I don't care how good supposed quality or value is, seeing that Behringer is content with running that sort of marketing gimmick along with power specs that blatantly disregard industry standards of measurement (possibly the number one spec used to compare amp products), I am happy to say I won't ever consider buying anything from them. It is a shame the recently acquired TC Electronic. If you do a little research on Behringer and MUSIC Group it is clear what sort of company you're dealing with. My money has no place going to that sort of large corporate acquisition monster that is obviously too far concerned with portfolios and profits rather than quality product and happy costumers. There is a reason they exists at the bottom of the quality barrel and why their products line the shelves of big stores like Guitar Center. Their profit comes from the young, the ignorant, and others who would be swayed by the whole "Bugatti Veyron" - "Bugera Veyron" scheme.

It is not pro gear, or even amateur gear. Considering how they market I'd be loath to say it is gear at all. GK says "Tools, not toys"

I've never owned or even seen any Bugera in person but all the Behringer I've dealt with is sub-par. Mics, mixers, and PAs, all barely make the cut. Combine this with their classless, tasteless, and downright questionable marketing along with the larger corporate picture, no thanks.

I take it, you don't /wont buy from Fender either?

Very old Behringer BX1200, used as a side monitor(EQ'ed for mids & highs) for gigs with good venue system, finally got distorted-sounding in late December 2016(speaker most likely, 8 years of thrashing it). A Bugera BXD 12" aluminum speakered one was bought as a replacement. Bonus is a -15dB pad switch and compressor(used for speaker protection) built in so I can go into the front instead of just going into the AMP IN jack(line level output from a Line 6 HD500X). First use was last night, worked great, even our keyboard/guitarist who also plays bass commented on it sounding very good. Pics later, camera is still in the gigbag at home.....

Here's a picture. MXR 10 band pedal EQ between Line 6 and amp(on top of Bugera) for more control of sound & levels.

Got my BXD12A a couple weeks ago. Nice little amp. Last gig I was being bombarded by the keyboard player's monitor AND the drummer to my right but it got me through. Still testing it out with different basses/pedals and settings on the front panel.
