Bugera Veyron Now Available

Fun thing on both of the Veyrons: 3 orange LEDs inside the amps that slowly light up after you switch the unit on. Looks almost exactly as if it were the tubes starting to glow, just seemed a bit too bright for me when I saw it first.
So they add artificial tube glow to make it look even better.
Hmm...ok...

And - the same with the Mosfet version!
Even though it doesn't have a tube, when you switch it on it slowly starts glowing up in orange behind that little window.
And also the sound fades in slowly corresponding to the light.
No click-pop-on as you would expect on a solid state amp, no - both of them look and behave very "tubey".

Funny - yes.
A little weird - maybe.

Probably a little ready-LED on the front panel would have done the job also, but it looks pretty nice this way.
Doesn't really make sense, but makes me smile a bit.
Adding a little eye candy to the ear candy... :D

A lot of amps even very expensive amps use LED lights on tubes. Tubes don't have to glow, it's just the filaments glow, they just need the heat, not the light. It's still a #1 troubleshooting aid for any amp with a tube "Does the tube light up?"

Question, if the tube is OUT, does the LED still light up?

If these T amps have any problems or inconsistencies it will be mostly due to the tubes. Anything that can be done to troubleshoot would sure make it easier on the purchaser.

Have you guys tested the Bugera 410 cab, I' m about to order one but can't find some reviews or sound samples, how it sounds compared to the big names like GK, Ampeg , Aguilar, Mesa and so on...it is worth the money?

I have the BN115TS, which is the sister cabinet. I know that 15's and 410's are light years different, but the sound quality of the 115 is phenomenal. The cab is so tight, high quality, and well built, it easliy compares to the Ampeg 115HE version that costs 4 times the amount. Having Behringer/Bugera partner with Turbosound is like joining Boeing and Airbus. Best of both modern world technology. If you like the Ampeg 410HE you'll like this one. Again, amazing how powerful my 115 is, given the size and weight.

See if valves glow isn't super useful for troubleshooting valves, common failures leave the filament glowing. Its super annoying trying to figure someone's amp problem when they have told me all the valves check out fine, and it turns out they think the filament glow means its working fine.

Uli Behringer probably knows... ;)

No, actually it looks as if they kinda refuse to give RMS numbers as they feel that number being meaningless to bass players anyway from what I can read out of their statements.
So from my own experiences I can only say that it can get loud enough for any application I could ever think of for me.

As a comparison that I did on my double 18" cab I found that at noise levels where my 300W all tube amp starts screaming from power amp tube saturation and overdrive the Veyron still stays pretty clean and unimpressed.
So I don't know how many Watts this might translate to, but I don't really fear to be underpowered with it.
