Building an Ampeg Heritage

I would do my 69 SVT/73 810 up in Heritage grillcloth if I could. Can't say I blame them for making it exclusively for Heritage gear customers, but I would absolutely do it if I could.

And to change things up. Just need the cloth and frame, not so much the Heritage badge, though. Although I must admit that I wish I hadn't said anything because now everyone's going to copy my brilliant idea.

Actually I was thinking of the grill cloth for the micro cl I ordered to use at school so it will look like my Heritage SVT.
Just got the head tonight, all I can say for now is holy good crap, that is what a bass should sound like. The best bass tone I have ever had was my Spector NS-2a through my '87 HD limited edition SVT through 2 8-10 cabs, this sounds the same, maybe better. Only got to play through it for about an hour, before bed time for my kiddos, but BLOWN AWAY. I have tried a lit of amps to try to find "that sound" including a 200 watt all tube Aguilar i asked Jimmy about retubing, nothing has come close to this sound, Nothing sounds like an SVT and a 8-10, period. Playing my USA Spector NS-4 through it. Hodgy, awesome job man, to get me to comparing it to that '87 SVT which to me is like the Holy Grail of bass tone is amazing.
My hang tag on the head is sighed by Hodgy and I think some one that their signature looks like Butta****o? Anyone know who that is?

Butta***o is the name of Hodgy's band. He simplified the spelling of "Buttafuoco." Great band that I expect to be hailed as legendary long after we're all dead.
I don't know how I feel about Micro CL's with Heritage grillcloth. Sort of takes away from the specialness, doesn't it? I mean, hey, I know you just bought a Heritage SVT rig and all, but I think we should maintain some standards for the Heritage grillcloth and not put it on the Micro CL.
But if I could just get a small swatch enough to do my BA108...

Ah, I see your point, but the CL is for me to use at work and kind of my Son's also, he's 7 and wanted to start playing bass last year to be like
Daddy (Loe 2.0). Now he sees my awesome new amp and wants one just like it but smaller...that's my thinking, not to disrespect the heritage line in anyway.

Dude, I was just joking around with you. That's why I threw in the BA108 joke at the end. It's their little $100 practice amp. I think it's hilarious that someone from Ampeg is even entertaining the notion of putting Heritage grillcloth on Micro VR's. I'll dang sure do it, though!
I'm a big fan of pushing the ridiculous. I think a Heritage BA108 is a fine idea. I might even have to create a Heritage Mackie SRM450v2.
Yes, Buttafuko (why is that getting censored!??) is my baby, a band that is completely absurd and nobody understands, except for a few friends. Although this quote from Mike Keneally about our album is all the praise I will ever need:
"It's really ****ing good!"

Ah, it was late last night, I didn't catch that BA108 reference. Cool, I would put that grill cloth on everything if I got a chance, The Micro, paint my grill black and put the grill cloth on the front (Cheesy joke, "Grill Cloth...) my car, you name it!
My cab just arrived to florida... Should be a couple of weeks before I get it home. Can't wait. A v4b heritage seriously needs to be made. I'd buy it hands down.

Actually, for the BA108, I want one of those old school swirl grills with the 1950's Ampeg baseball lettering logo silk screened onto it. Nice little amp for $100. I gig with it sometimes on my low volume stuff. Thought about maybe trying an Alpha 8a in it to eke a little bit more out of it but it sounds pretty good as is so I never bothered with it.
