Buyers beware!!!!

I'm sorry to her that g4string. I, for one, agree with you on the principle of the matter aspect of things. I think that the seller might have been attempting to cover up the initial sell by offering the replacement. As in he got a sale regardless on a higher end cab he may or may not have sold another, more honest way. My wording is confusing, but it makes sense in my head. Either way, I hope things work out for you. Would you mind PM'ing me the name of the builder in order to avoid business with this company?

Do you not have a 1,100 dollar replacement cab?

Maybe I am missing the point of this. But I think you are slightly over reacting as well

Nope, was intercepted and returned to the vendor. Tell ya what, when you think you're being swindled out of $700, let me know how you react. My reactions are firm and swift, but I don't think I have over reacted. Maybe I have. I dunno. I have offered to reimburse the shipping cost so the vender breaks even......how is that over reacting?

If I think I'm being swindled out of any money I document everything and keep a close eye on what happens without causing a stink.

No refund is a little shady but it sounds like he did you pretty good. Sending out a better replacement, not waiting to receive the broken cab first etc.. That's good customer service any way you want to see it. We are very careful where I work to make sure customers know when they're ordering non refundable items and he could've done better in that department but you aren't getting screwed that I can see.

Well I'm with you. The only reason the cab was damaged was insufficient packing. I doubt Fedex would accept liability for shipping damage on a pathetic packing job like that. In my opinion, he should have refunded you your money so you could go and buy something else to cover you for your immediate gig.
I can hardly believe he'd email you that you're being "disrespectful." He offers you a discount, a great price on the product by all accounts, and this means you the customer have to kiss his feet no matter what happens afterward?

I'd like the name of this cab builder as well. He sounds like an honest guy who goes the extra mile for his customers! You, on the other hand, sound like an intolerant perfectionist.

Maybe so. However, Ive been called worse by better people. But the point of this thread is to alert fellow TB'rs about the risk involved in send non-fee payments. The last 3-4 transactions on TB have all been with sellers who requested non-fee payments. Any one of those could have ended up like this, or worse!! Point being, save yourself the grief and use regular paypal for all of your internet transactions.

If you've ever dealt with this cab builder it is obvious who he is. In my experience this builder is A+ in the customer service department and I would not hesitate to buy from him again.

I purchased two cabs from him. One arrived with a cracked corner. I let him know and he shipped out a replacement right away. I offered to pay for it and he declined.

With the second cab, we were talking price and he misquoted me $50 in my favor. When I said "You really meant to say that the cab should cost $X, correct?" his reply was that yeah, that's what he meant but since he quoted me a lower price he'd honor it.

He built the cabs and shipped quickly. They sound better than any cabs I have ever played, and the price I paid for each was half of what other boutique cabs go for.

If I need to add another cab, this builder is the only one I would go to.

I'm sorry that your experience was not satisfactory to you, but it seems that he went out of his way to make things right.
