Buying a fairly expensive bass from Amazon.com

The LB-100 on eBay has a body made of "empress wood", which I have never heard of. Is that a pro over ash/alder? Anyone know?
Empress wood is another name for paulownia. A very lightweight, somewhat soft and good sounding tone wood. Looks a lot & sounds a bit like ash. I have an Anderson Tele made of it and if it weren't for the hardware, the body would probably float to the ceiling.
