Well to be technical, it is a type of Precision. But to compare it to a classic Precision, I'd say it's closer to a 51-type instrument but grittier. It doesn't sound like a classic P-bass. It sort of falls between the two.How do these sound when compared to a precision?
Do you think it would be possible to put an early 50s precision-style pickguard on one of these, how about a a 51 control plate too?
Think Dusty Hill from ZZ Top's live tone but you don't need effect pedals to get there!!
Good comparison. I was playing along with Tres Hombres on mine the other night, just for kicks, and was surprised at how close the tone came.

Has any of you looked up what "Cabronita" (somewhat) means in Spanish?![]()
You made me curious so I checked and it doesn't translate into anything using either Systrans or Google Translate.

That's because they (cleverly?) mis-matched the gender of the stem and the modifier. "ita" indicates a feminine noun. The stem, however... is best left excluded from polite company. Urban Dictionary will be far more helpful that GT in this case.
(and no, I'm not making this up. I've run it past my spanish professor and an inside contact at fender. they know what's up, and I can only imagine the laughter.)
I'll leave the research up to you.![]()
I personally can't say enough good things about them. Best impulse buy I ever made.
