I love mine too...what great basses! Just picked up my second one, in bad @ss black this time, and I'm going to mod it. I have a tort guard in shipping and should be here Tue/Wed and it is getting either the TV Jones Thunder Blade or Thunder Mag. I'm leaning towards Thunder Mag just cuz, but I'll post progress. Here is "Cabron" having his way with "Lolita" the Cabronita. Just love these things. Congrats Kobass, I think you'll be really happy with it!

OK...got 1st bits of stuff done on "Cabron" the Cabronita. "Lolita" the Cabronita approves and so far they make a nice couple, but she DID say "Hurry up and get this cabron a TV Jones Thunder Blade." Maybe size DOES matter?!?!? Hummmph...

Has anyone put heavy strings on their cabronita? I have a frankenjazz with a Cabronita neck and I wanna put labella 110s on it but don't want to mod the nut.

Has anyone ever sighted a 5-string Cabronita (not Fender of course)?? Does this kind of pickup even exist for 5 strings?

Mine weighs in at 9.6lbs on my bathroom scale.

The bridge looks like a 5 hole vintage setup would retrofit easily without filling and drilling. Based on eyeballing it & using a ruler. I wouldn't guarantee it, but it looks promising!

Just came up for grabs at Dave's in LaX, WI. DROOL. WANT. CANT AFFORD haha. Custom Shop Borracho Cabronita. I love Cabby's but I just grabbed a Reverse Jaguar Bass a couple of days ago, so THIS is chubby city to me!! I'm thinking..ooOO(Gorn Captain would like neck) but here is a screen capture of it from his site:

I would love that neck. The maple on the fretboard between the frets on mine is starting to show some wear, which is surprising cuz I don't play hard or that often since I'm not really a gigging musician. Mine might look like that in a few years.

I want to join the club! I bought the one at Dave's Guitar in La Crosse last Friday. I haven't used it in a show yet but I have to say I am in love with this bass! I have never had a Custom Shop Fender before and the quality is amazing. It has the best feeling neck on any bass I've ever had and it sounds huge. I love these TV Jones pickups. The cool thing is it weighs just under 8 pounds! No joke. I can't wait for my first opportunity to play it out. I've ways been a die hard Jazz Bass guy but this is the most unique Fender I've ever owned. I can't put it down. Here it is. Happy to be in the club!

OH YOU EVIL EVIL MAN!!! I have been touching myself over that Borracho for 2 weeks!!! LMAO..glad you scored it. Ive gotten about half my collection from Dave (and 1 of my Cabby's even) and have done business with him for at least 20 years and even painted for him for a while. A truly great guy that deserves every bit of his success in the business! I remember his first store years and years ago on the other side of town. WOW..congrats on the Borracho! Was thinking of getting one of these as a backup to my stingray. Recently tried a new am standard p bass and really liked it, but bizarrely think I liked the cabronita even more!
