Calling all Ibanez experts!

Interesting, the US Ibanez site says the SR400QM has a Mahogany/Quilted Maple top, but the Australian site says it's Basswood

Is this a typo on the Australian site in that to my understanding the 2010 model was Basswood/QM?

Just curious as to what mine is! :help:

Is mahogany traditionally a heavier wood than basswood? I haven't weighed mine but I do know it's definitely under 9lbs.

Just to be clear, mine is a 2011 model with the new CAP EXF pups and 3 band. I can put up some photos of the back if there's any discernible difference in the grain from mahogany and basswood.

I think they changed(upgraded) to Mahogany recently, this year or last. Maybe they just haven't updated the Australian site.

This could also be true, or, it could be the other way around!

I was looking at the Warwick custom shop website to fire up my GAS with all their beautiful woods :hyper: and noticed that the mahogany grain looks very similar to the back of my bass, at least compared to basswood :smug: what do you guys reckon?

Also, I took a photo of the top wood and was very impressed with the quilting of the maple considering it's a low-end Ibanez :bassist:
