With the URB mine is quiet, with BG it has a bit of hiss with knobs on the bass at about 7. This little thing is awesome! I'll gigging it tonight at the loudest room we play in w/o pa support. I'll be using the URB and the ashdown 15 and the gk sbx410. Then I have a country gig friday and saturday. I'll be using the mkII and the ashdown only. Found a pair of epi 12's I'll be trying this weekend, 800 for the pair. I'll let you guys know how the gig goes.

Whats the Cabs that people are getting hiss with. Mine are UL2-112.
I've own the LMII and the SD800 and in comparison the SD800 has a slight hiss, not the LMII.
My cabs are Glockenklang Neo's.
It is just a regular hiss even if the volume is down and no bass is connected. It's no big deal, but it's there (with the SD800), in comparison to the LMII.
UL310's, tweeters at 12:00 and Yamaha BBT110S's, tweeters at 9:00. A little bit of hiss there even with the volume turned all the way down on the amp.Yeah i'm bothered as well.

"White noise" like a TV not on the channel, but very very faint. I'm thinking it may be interference from other electrical type items in the area. In my situation, I think it's the J-bass and not the head as the URB doesn't hiss at all.

Okay, I just wanted to make sure we were on the same page. Mine definitely doesn't have that at all. It has hiss with my HMR jazz plugged in and the treble up, but that bass has single coils and hisses with everything. With the MTD and/or with the volume down, there is absolutely no hiss at all...

Cabs do not hiss, so that wouldn't matter. I guess if you have a tweeter really cranked, you might get some minor high frequency hiss, since the Markbass heads are quite bright.
Both my SD800 and LMII are on the very quiet range of the noise spectrum... for all practical purposes, dead quiet.

I don't think there is such a thing as class D hiss. There is, however, EA iAmp hiss
.. these amps are very noisy and happen to be class D. However, my AI amps and Walter Woods, also class D, are dead quiet.Again, with the SD800, like any amp, if you have the treble turned up a little, and your tweeter cranked, and then crank the master up, you will get a slight, typical amount of high frequency hiss, but again, compared to all the other amps I own, these amps are on the quiet side to my ear.
I don't think that was being suggested. I think it was a matter of whether the hiss was there, but based on what kind of cab was being used, and what it's tweeter setting was, maybe it wasn't being heard.

On mine, I hear a little bit of hiss even with all the eq's turned down, both gain and master all the way down. Basically everything "off" as much as possible.
Thanks Vic. Thats exactly what I was getting at. It should have read "What gear are people using in addition to the LMII to get the hiss".
When I got home from work just before last nights Jam, i plugged it in and cranked it..
NO HISS!
There, i'm MORE than happy now.
Reporting back from the gig last night, This tiny amp cut through a mix consisting of, 4 guitars, 1 harmonica, 1 keyboard, 1 loud drummer and vocals. When the jam started rocking, there was not one moment you could not hear the bass.
It was a match made in heaven for a GK 410 (old one, non-tweeter). This amp can shake the floor, your booty, all while providing tight lows and definition to every note. It took Mr. Burghof (Invalid Link Removed) less than 5 minutes to find a tone that was beautiful. I tweaked the amp for Ed Fedewa when he sat in, and his amazing bass solo just blew me away. And for the brief moment that I played, it sounded just right, even when I backed away from the amp a bit.
The only problem I had with this amp is it's SO loud, that when 4 guitars were playing people kept turning up to drown out the bass. But they could not, this amp sliced through a Badcat Club II on full, 2 Blues Jr's on full, a Roland 1x115 KB combo, a Marshall 1x12 combo on full without issues!
The only thing that hurt on load out was my ears..
LOL!Same thing, very happy with the performance of my MKII! Cut through the mix with no problem, never distorted and only had the volume on 4! Kudos to Mark Bass!

I was thinking of getting the same setup. Have you used this rig on any outdoor gigs? I do a few outdoor gigs with pa support and was wondering how well the two 12's handle it. Right now I use two Mesa cabs a 2x10 and a 1x15 with an Ampeg svt pro 4 amp. I'm looking for a lighter easier to move rig.
