Callowhill Basses? What do you think?

yeah, the site said that maurice f. was the man behind that spacing, so i'm assuming that's what he's using on his basses...sounds pretty cool...i've played a couple basses and heard a few more that i really like that utilize the concept of the neck pickup a little closer to the neck...looks pretty interesting

I was going to get that spacing on my Junk too...then i decided "what the hell?" and I'm getting a Nordy NP5 pick-up at the neck instead since I love that pick-up so much. :bassist:

well, it was supposed to be done last october :D long story...

so have you seen or heard a 4 string j(unk) by any chance? i'm only coming up with a couple of 5 strings

OUCH! Sorry to hear that.

To my knowledge, a 4 string Junk has yet to be made, but since Tim offers them already as a an option, I GUARANTEE they'll be sick. A 4 string is on my short list of GAS if I run into some more expendable money, so there WILL be one eventually lol.

I have spoken to Tim regularly and have yet to hear about a 4 string. I know he is in the process of making a 6 string. You can check out his myspace to see it's progress. I also think that a 4 string with that spacing would RAWK!

I saw the makings of that six string at his shop and let me say this....IT'S INSANE. I love it and wish I had an excuse to get another 6 string. :help:

I guess I need to play one, but the astestics and the ridiculous logo on the headstock sure have turned me off. No to mention the attitude shown on his website posted above. Guess I'll just keep playing my junk until I can get my hands on one of these instruments.

Can a luthier build a better bass than Fender, at more than twice the price? Let's hope so.......

got an email back from tim...really cool guy...he said that he's got a couple j(unk) 4 string basses in progress...the specs i requested are a little different than what has come his way in the past, but he seems pretty interested...after i get this mtd jazz, i might be starting a callowhill project..cool stuff!

Apparently fender can build a better bass than a fender at more than twice the price...at least they think so :p.
