Bears a resemblance to Rogue but I've never seen one with what appears to be flamed maple top and oval inlays. It almost looks like a Spector/Rogue hybrid.

Can anyone help identify this bass?

I think it might be a Jay Turser. They have a model that looks really similar except the logo is on the bass and not the headstock.
Is it just me or does it look medium scale? Maybe Grill was just a big dude. That’s all I got.
The inlays on the bass in question look like squares, or some similar shape, not dots. But, I think that Jay Turser is pretty dang close.

Now that I know the name, I can read it. It is a Jay Turser.
Rogue is pretty generic, if that is a rogue it would be the "upper" price range model, MIK at first. Had a 2 band pre and decent wood/construction details if i remember rightly. It does look like one though.

Very good detective work, everybody. I think Jay Turser is the brand. Now I just have to find what model! I haven't seen one with the name on the head stock in that style yet.

It looks like Jay Turser made the the Rebel 4K basses for Tanglewood, and those appear to be the same exact specs. They have some pretty good reviews.
Hehehehe..its definitely a Jay Turser! I had a kid that used to come to our shows back in the mid 2000's that had one just like that...I gave him a few lessons as well, and set it up for him. It was light as a feather
There's plenty of pro's that play budget instruments for various reasons. I imagine he liked that Jay Turser because it was simple and lightweight, but also looked cool. Can't beat that.

just be careful if you decide to get one yourself. you may be disappointed. try before you buy
Even though I am new to bass, I have played six string guitars for years. My favorite guitar is one of my cheapest ones. If my house caught fire, that is the one I'd carry out with me. It's funny how you can have favorite things like that.
I think this may be a case of me looking for that similar body style in a little bit better brand.
And perhaps if a person travels with it, and the airline wrecks it, it's not a huge loss.
I did not know about that brand, but they looked to be an exact duplicate. Thank you.
