not trying to be a joik. It just seemed like this thread was building up some momentum of misonfo about Roadster vs Roadstar. Balme Ibanez for using such similar confusing name. And why did it evolve from Roadster to Roadstar II to Roadstar?

Very true. Ibanez's naming system is pretty damn confusing. At least they kept their serial numbering system pretty consistent making it easy to identify most of the vintage stuff.

Hey Lazarus, did the place you got that pic have any info on the bass? After browsing the online Ibanez catalogs, I think that this is an '87 Roadbass. Guitar center has since taken the photo I posted down but mine looks an awful lot like this one. It should be here tomorrow so I guess I will find out for sure then.

EDIT: Never mind on the photo Lazarus. I found it. What makes you think it's a Roadstar 700 and not a Roadbass? After comparing both photos they look exactly the same to me. I'm hoping it's a roadstar though.

The Roadstar photo that I posted has several differences to the Roadbass photo you posted. The Roadstar knobs are aligned in a slightly curved shape, while the Roadbass has them in a straight line. The Roadstar has more of a flat front and back, where the Roadbass is curvy (you can see how this was one of the last models transitioning to the Soundgear series). The Roadstar has a normal neck, but the Roadbass appears to have a zero fret. The horns are VERY different one both basses. The bridge and pickup covers also appear to be slightly different.

As you asked, I'm sure you already know that those pickups aren't original. They look like Gibson-style humbuckers, but they don't sound muddy. They sound surprisingly good.

I'm from Colombia and I got an Ibanez RB700. I loaded the bass with Seymour Duncan QP and even with the stock pickups the bass sounded great (had an has that 80's rock sound)
