Can Someone Name An Inexpensive, Tiny Combo (That Doesn't Completely Suck)?

Easily. I sold it to a good friend and he uses it for jazz combo for both electric and upright, which includes drums. What's really cool about them IMHO is they're dual channel, so if you get the (albeit expensive) footswitch, you can set the overdrive channel at 0 and basically use it like a mute switch for switching basses (I used to use the GK in church ensemble and did this to switch between fretted and fretless.)

IMHO they are one of the very best 110 combos ever. I only wish they had integrated compressors.

My favorite is my Eden, but that's 3x the power, 3x the money, and a lot harder to carry.

I just came online to see if anyone has heard the nemesis N8? I am looking for a practice amp and something I can take over to my acoustic buddies house. Here is a link to a demo by Eden on the product. The demo movie sounds good for the size.

GK Backline 110 or 112 (I own a 112).

110 is 70 watts, 112 is 100 watts. Power can be extended with a cab if desired. Both can be kicked back, monitor-style.

It sounds awesome without any additional effects, and it has a great overdrive channel built into it.

The 112 runs for $279 at GC - at least, it did when I bought it.

Have you tried an Ibanez SoundWave amp? I got the 35 watt model for $150 out the door for a very quiet jazz/standards gig and have been very pleased with it. Tiltback design, built-in limiter, 10db boost switch, bass/mid/treble and presence controls, CD RCA style input, headphone jack, and best of all, really good useable tones. Very happy with mine.

Alesis Bassfire 60. Even though I have one for sale (pardon the cheap plug) it's a great little combo with built in amp and cab modeling, chromatic tuner, effects, compressor, limiter, etc, etc. Pretty loud for 60 watts and 1x12". They can be had for cheap too. New is about $199 - $229 shipped depending where you go. Only reason I am selling mie is that she just never gets used (I keep my AMP BH-420 and Aguilar S210 setup in the same area)...

Just verified, the 112 is the same way. You can not run the internal speaker and an external cab simultaneously... but then again, that's what your "main" rig is for anyway.

I can vouch for these. I had an Sound Wave 65. the 65 watt version of this amp for a year and i regret selling it. It was a good practice and stage monitor amp. Had decent tone and was trouble free.

You can these around $190.00-$200.00 new and for as little as $110.00 used.

Hey- I forgot about this thread!

I ended up buying a Peavey Microbass off of eBay, and I'm very surprised at how loud/good it sounds. Not a huge amount of tones in there, but more than I expected from the size, and the volume is certainly a lot better than I had hoped for. Very light and tiny too.

Right now it's sitting on top of my Epifani UL112c combo, which is sitting on top of my Avatar Delta 4x10 :D

Good to hear back. I was one of the horde that suggested the Microbass. Glad we had some input on your purchase.

Well I guess it's too late for another bassman 25 vote!, I borrowed one of these from my dad for awhile and it does sound nice,
even better than his polytone and more reliable also.
The ampeg b50r is sweet also for an inexpensive? amp.

Wow, those are going for cheap! As are the head and seperate enclosures. The 1x10's are just $150 each, shipped!
