you may be onto something there....i think it's the absence of american roots influences....blues,gospel,country etc were missing here.....as well in the early days of rock/pop a lot of american music never saw airplay here and i think a lot of influences with them...Yep - I'm not a fan of Canadian pop in general. I find it bland for the most part (The Tragically Hip would be a prime example). Don't get me wrong - I'm not slamming all Canadian music, but when it comes down to it, none of my favourite artists come from Canada. I've always been much more into what has come out of the U.K. and the U.S. (And Jamaica, and West Africa, and Brazil, and...). But yeah, I thought Feist's first album was brilliant and very well-produced.
