Canadians Who have ordered from BSO

I was going through liking every post then about half-way down decided to quit.... Once I bought from BSO, I never shopped anywhere else. Quick, I get ANY string I want, and wasn't surprised by any additional charges. Plus Jason's a great dude, running a great business, and I'll support that any day of the week.

I like BSO... I want a like too...:crying: :D

I have to agree with everybody else here, BSO is the way to go. The prices and selection beats my L&M at every turn. I order a couple sets at a time, plus some students will jump on my order from time to time, so the added few bucks for shipping is negligible.

Thank you all for the support!

We only ship via USPS for international purchases. Using UPS, FedEX or DHL is just asking for trouble as they charge a brokerage fee. Not to mention their rates are much more.

The USPS recently raised our prices for Canadian shipments but we decided to keep the flat fee of $9.95 for ANY SIZED ORDER. One set of strings costs us about $9 to ship, any more than that get more costly per ounce (and bass strings are heavy). If you want to order a single string, some picks to try, or some lighter accessories I am happy to see if I can work a lower price. If you purchase a gig bag, you are correct to assume it will only be $9.95 for shipping! You can see what we pay on shipments to USPS.com . Single set of Bass Strings varies from 7-10 ounces, 2 sets is 13ounces to 16ounces.

7-Ounce = $8.80
10-Ounce = $9.55
13-16 Ounce = $10.95
2 Pounds (about 4 sets) = $16.55
Gig Bag = $61.10

Any of the above shipments cost you $9.95!

i have ordered from them and it is very good but-
am I missing something? a lot of the strings I want from them aren't available for shipment from the US to canada

Some companies do not allow us as a direct authorized dealer to ship their products internationally. Many of them have lifted the restriction to Canada. They do this so "internationally resellers can protect the prices." I don't exactly agree with that, but please if you are looking for a product that has that disclaimer on it please message me and I can make a suggestion. At the moment there are only two brands that are restricting our sales to Canada and other international countries.

Yup, ordered strings and a pickup from them, but had the pup sent to my girlfriend over in michigan. Either way, great deals and great to do business with.

@SLaPiNFuNK ...

I believe Ernie Ball is the one company, what's the other?

And how do we get info on the TB discount? PM if that's better.
Thanks!

Elixir recently approved shipping to Canada. Hoping others will too.

As i also buy sets by the 4-6 pack. I had always good dealings with BSO.
Even with the flat rate shipping and currency exchange you cannot beat the selection and prices.

I really wished dunlop would lift the restricions to canada, i cannot find dunlop super brights in my neck of the woods :(

See what I mean about being Canadian savvy? I tried to buy some goods (not strings) from another retailer in the US recently, and they were steadfast about only shipping via FedEx, which is not only expensive but also results in brokerage fees for me. I tried to get them to send USPS, but they just flat out refused and seem confused as to why I wouldn't want the courier. So here is where Jason is a smart guy - he knows what makes a difference for us Canucks and takes it into account. Now you just need to sell pickguards too... ;)

Jason is da man. I've been buying string from BSO pretty much exclusively for the last two years. Sorry L and M, but if I can get DR SunBeams to my door for under $20 a pack, I'm going to keep ordering. Selection is beyond great, pricing is beyond great, and delivery to the West Coast is averaging 6 business days, sometimes less. I can't get these deals even if I drive to the local Guitar Center just over the border...

Just thought I'd update this.

Today i received my second order from BSO. Both delivered to my door instead of to my US address. Since i like to keep a small stockpile on hard. Ill will be continuing to get my strings and various accessories from BSO as i dont usually get caught in a "need it this second scenario". Delivery times were also very reasonable

Also the few questions i had and emailed in the evening were responded to the next day

Very happy with what BSO offers to Canadian customers!

I've ordered twice from BSO and both arrived within two weeks or less(to Nova Scotia). Paying the $11 shipping isn't a huge deal to me because I'd still pay more for a set at Long & McQuade. Actually, L&M here doesn't even carry GHS Precision flats or any other flats I'd like to try. I guess that's what lead my to try Bass Strings Online in the first place.
