Cancer 1....My pop 0

Mike, it really looks like your dad is getting headed in the right direction - both with the quitting and the treatment.

I'm very happy to hear this, and you just keep doing what you're doing, the last thing he needs to do is rehash what he's going through. Talking about any and everything else is the best medicine for him, psychologically.

You're a good guy, and if it's possible for a positive attitude to heal someone in this situation, you're the man for the job. Keep up the good work.

Henry & Chris, keep fighting the good fight, we're all here pulling for you!!!

Mike, best wishes, many prayers and positive vibes to you, your family and your Dad as you all deal with a very difficult situation. My wife went through breast cancer a couple of years ago and I can safely say that it was the worst thing I have ever gone through in my life. I spent many a day rehearsing in my head the talk I would have to have with my then 12 year old daughter had the situation turned for the worst. It was mental torture of the worst kind. My poor kid hung tough through it all but she felt compelled to start sleeping in her parents bedroom, on the floor for about five weeks during the difficult times. My wife is now cancer free and healthier than ever and I am thankful for that (she has always been the model of good health and healthy living, no smoking or anything like that). I come from a family of hardcore cigarette smokers and unfortunately most of them are dead. I hope your Dad can moderate his habit to the degree that it will no longer adversely affect his health. To everyone else that is dealing with cancer, my prayers go to you and your families. Best of luck to you all.

Hell, this thread pushed me over to quitting.

Dude, that is awesome news. I'm glad something else good came from this.

I'm still working on helping a few people quit. I may volunteer some hours to man the "quit line" locally. It is a 1-800 number people can call for help quitting smoking.

I saw Henry Friday, and he says acc to his doctor, he is
cancer free.

There is some good news.

Mike M, I am glad to see you quit. I quit 23 years ago when
my daughter was born, and its probably the best thing I ever
did, after marrying my wife and graduating from college.

I can guarantee you that if I continued to smoke 2 packs
of KooLs per day, I would not be here right now.

MJ. hang in and do what you gotta do, we're all pulling for
you.

I'm on a very personal vendetta against cancer, not because it's in me so much as because i hate to see others an their loves ones have to deal with it. I hate it! i hate what it does to people, and when I am in the chemo room, i would gladly give my life right then and there to have everyone in that room be healed, i kid you not.
Chris, i have been wondering how you have been doing. I pray for things to take a good turn, bro.
Mike, I am sorry to hear this. But man, gotta keep hope alive...
I pray for your pops as well.
As i write, my liver is letting me know all is not well,i got mets from the colon cancer. I get bummed sometimes, but it's a miracle i am here and i get to make it to my gig nightly... for how much longer, who knows, but tomorrow is not promised to any of us.
I find strength in my faith in Christ. One thing i keep hearing and reading.. attitude is everything. The beast can be beat... here's to kicking it's ass.
Love you guys, stay strong , fellas.
