Cancer 1....My pop 0

Keep your heads up MJ and Chris.
It really sucks, my friend had cancer and she died 2 years ago she was only 19 years old and a smoker.
But mate listen there have been people that survived the cancer and it could happen your dad and Chris too.
Just dont give up the hope and never doubt for one second that the cancer will win.
This is possible and thinking another way will only make you feel bad.
IT'S NOT IMPOSSIBLE!
And for you others DON'T SMOKE for the love of god don't.
I know it can be hard but it can be done.
A good method is hypnosis, yeah lets laugh and point the finger at Cloud. But hypnosis has been done on smokers and they felt discusted by ciggaretes.
And you hurt others by smoking, my aunts husband always keep the distance beetwen me and him when he smokes and says " I'm a fool that smokes so i dont want you to take part of this poison".
Would you smoke close to the girl you love, or your children would you want them to get hurted?
Serioulsy is it worth it? A paper filled with some stupid weed
what is that. It's only waste of money and health and time if you ask me.
Does your friend or anyone of the people you love smoke.
Help them quit, tommorow i'm going to convince my girlfriend to stop with that because this post puted fear in me over the thought of her dying. And im happy it did scare me cus now i know and really feel how much i love her.
So my suggestions are DONT SMOKE if you do HYPNOSIS is a great method. HELP the people you love and others if you want to QUIT smoking. MJ and Chris i wish you all luck in the world. I'll pray for the cancer to dissapear that's the last thing i could do... the only thing i can do... :(
All the best wishes to everyone that suffers from cancer.

I have an update on my pop.

First off, I chose to handle this in a way that a few of you may disagree with. Do not chastise me for that, please. You do it your way, I did it mine. Rather than learn tons about the cancer, and ways to treat it, I chose to completely ignore the scientific/doctor end of it. My dad gets enough medical mumbo-jumbo at his doctors office, he sure doesn't need to come home and have me talking to him all about it. I don't act like it didn't happen, I just remain uninformed of the treatment and exact diagnosis. I told my dad this, and he was fine with that. My dad and I talk about the Steelers, Altoona, chopper bikes, 4x4's, cars, computers, golf, and other dad/son stuff. We don't need to sit around talking about cancer.

On to the update....My dad has been getting treatment once a week where they flush some chemical through his bladder and kidneys. It is supposed to clean up the insides real good and remove any traces of the cancer cells. It appears at this point that he was fortunate, they caught the cancer early enough to stop it.

He has gone from 2-3 packs of cigarettes a DAY down to one pack per week. He reasoned with me that he can't stop a habit of 45 years cold turkey. I agree, and have been supporting him as he slowly eliminates the cigarettes from his life.

Great news.

Keep up the emotional support role.... it's crucial.

Great news for your dad.......It took 2 weeks from when we found out my dad had colon cancer to when he died.......it was crazy........anyways If he wants to quit he can do it. I smoked 2 packs a day for 20 years and quit cold turkey......not gum, no patch, nothing..........it's been 8 months and I'm done!

Invalid Link Removed is pretty cool...........

Hey Mike. Glad to hear your dad is doing better. Cancer is definately the worst. My dad died of lung cancer 3 years ago. If you need someone to talk to just send a PM. :)

Glad to hear good news... I hope more good news will come out bud... And dont worry

PS I don’t think you can make anyone quit really... It has to come from the person him/her self... When I quit smoking it was random out of no where thing... I didn’t plan it but one day I just thought "eh I think I’ll stop now". And I did... I know for sure I will never smoke again (cigs that is... you can judge me on other stuff I don’t care)... I suggest don’t pressure him too much, some don’t hurt but too much does make smokers want to smoke even more usually...

I wish him good luck on beating cancer and quitting smoking…

Cheers bud

Michael, Greg, Chunk, Brad, Mike, Steph, Frank, Mike, Burk, Page, Invis, DigThem, Matt, Josh, and Serg......Thanks for the kind words of encouragement.

Mike Money.....the score won't be even until the cancer is gone. My pop still has cancer right now.
