Yet another can't decide on a cab thread.

I've got a GK700RB ii, love it.
Deciding on the cab is the hard part.
I play a 91' Stingray 3 band Eq with a Nordstrand pup.
Mainly play Hard/Pop Rock, Alternative, originals, plucking, no pick.
Oh, and not gigging much these days.

I've narrowed it down to these choices, and they are other sides of the spectrum tone wise.
I also want to run the amp at 4ohms and try to keep it to one cab if possible.

So, Ampeg 212av, or 2-112av's, just like the punch of the singles better then the 212, and if money is not there for 2, just get one to start.

Or, a GK neo 410 at 4ohms.

I know there are a lot of many other options out there, but right now, these are the 2 tones i'm really diggin.

Thoughts?, i'm sure some of you might want to suggest other options, just don't want to get into a slug fest about other cabs.

Thanks all.

More seriously, why a 4Ω cabinet? The difference in volume between 4 and 8Ω will be barely noticeable. An 8Ω cabinet will allow you to add a second down the road.

Well, since i don't play out that much anymore, my thinking was to get the full poop out of the amp with a stand alone cab.
Not sure if that thinking makes a lot of sense, but there you have it Bassman.

indeed it would. For playing at home you don't need the full "poop" from your amplifier, you'd blow the roof off! Adding the second cabinet to play a gig is just good sense. You'll get more SPL from the close coupling of the two cabinets and the increase in power from the amp. Stack the two cabinets vertically for better dispersion out in the room.

And my thinking for the Ampeg's, they really sound great, really impressed with them.
It would be easy to move as well.

appreciate your reply's Bassman.

I like both cabs you mentioned, but I own two of the Ampeg 212AVs. I just find them to be incredibly warm, which works for me. I think the GK might go a little bit deeper (not that the Ampeg doesn't have a nice low end - they do).

Hey Alexander, pretty much leaning towards the Ampeg's.
Just love the tone and don't need a lot of low end, and from what i've heard so far, they sound more like sealed cab, warm and tight.
thanks for chiming in.
