Carbon fiber fretless four-stringer

When I asked Rob about the possibility of there ever being a 6-string (medium-scale) Streamline when I was placing my order, the response was that 'it's too much hassle to make another mould & it won't happen'... I think you've given me inspiration that one day I might DIY something that approximates it closely-enough.

Will definitely watch thread closely! Thanks so much for sharing the process :)

I’m excited to see how this turns out! I’ve watched countless videos on Easy Composites YouTube page. They make it seem so easy…but those who who actually worked with composites will tell you it is anything but simple.

it all starts with a high quality mold. If that part isn’t right, there isn’t much you can do to fix it after the fact, aside from just covering your mistakes with paint.

I'd say the making of the bass itself is quite simple, at least with the background in glass fiber boat building in my youth. I've watched all possible YT videos about vacuum bagging, forged carbon fiber and carbon fiber laminating. My build is just a mix of all the ideas I've gathered from those vids.
I'd say that after 40 or so basses built I have a pretty good experience about what makes a good bass, at least what makes a good bass for me. For sure carbon fiber bass is not the one I recommend for starting hobby builder but it is not as difficult as it may seem.

That is just a name in this forum, i don't like headless basses.
It's good to focus on things you like! There are a lot of build threads here, you might see more things you like by participating in a thread that doesn't involve a headless bass. And it might be a good idea to click the "Unwatch Thread" button at the top of the page because otherwise, since you posted here you will continue to get updates about something you don't like.
