Double Bass Carbon Fibre Bows

I am looking into purchasing a CF bow, initially I was looking at a Carbow but after some trolling around online I am now not so sure.
Wondering if anyone out there could offer some advice/evaluation on what might be best. My current list is: Yita music, Finale, coda and
carbow.

Here's what I get from searching under "Carbow carbon fiber bows" within the Talkbass threads.

There's one thread called "carbon fiber round up" that might interest you."

I have a YitaMusic "Top" model CF bow and it's excellent. I'm new to bass bowing (played cello for 3 years), but it makes bowing much easier compared to the other cheapish bows I've used. It's construction is very impressive. In fact, today my teacher brought his David Gage Metropolitan in and A/B'd the two, concluding that the only difference was that the Yita pulled a bigger sound. He couldn't get over the fact that it was only $170 :) I haven't tried the Finale bow, heard great things about them though. I say you can't go wrong with a Yita

Why does it have to be carbon?

Call me oldfashioned (and yes, i'm a newbie, i've been playing arco for like 10 months now), but I still prefer the response of wood over carbon. (especially if you want it at a reasonable price)

I was looking for a CF bow because it seems in a cheaper price range that CF is of a better standard than wood, that seems to be the general consensus on this site...
I have now ordered one of the Yita bows, should have it in the next week or so.

I've been playing Shar Music's "A. Schmidt" brazilwood bow (rehaired with black) for awhile and have been happy with it, even though it's a little bouncy.

Last night, I brought out a CF bow I bought and haven't really used. Both are French style bows with black hair. At first, the wood bow sounded way better, while the CF bow just couldn't get a good grip or a full sound.

More rosin...loosen the bow hair a little...rinse & repeat.

At some point, the bow dialed in. Because of the greater stiffness of a CF bow, I was able to have it a lot looser without the hair bottoming out on the stick. I'll try that bow at chamber orchestra rehearsal tonight and see how it holds up in terms of sound and volume.

Would the increased stiffness be a key difference between CF and brazilwood?
