Carvin B1500 club

So....someone just posted a Schroeder 1212 (front facing neo drivers) on the Classifieds for $300. Anyone tried one of these with the B1500? Any direct comparisons to the NeoX 212T? From a specs point of view (which I know can be reallllly misleading) they're both 4ohm, neo drivers, and light weight and the Schroeder can take 200W more than then GB (800 vs 600.)

Thoughts? .....this kinda seems too good to be true. I have no experience with Schroeder whatsoever so I'm hesitant to pull the trigger without some feedback.:help:

Thanks! Some day I'm gonna put my foot down and do something! Though, from what I can tell, avoiding decisions on gear seems to be a common problem among us bass players!

Hey guys -

After weeks of looking for the right deal and being TOTALLY indecisive, I finally made a purchase!:hyper: I picked up two Carvin BRX 10.2 Neo cabs from a fellow TBer for a really reasonable price. While they weren't number one on my list, they were the very first cab set I was considering - and for the price, I don't think they can be beat.

I've always had good luck with Carvin, I'm sure these won't let me down! I had to have a friend in NYC pick them up for me, so it'll be another three weeks until I get to see them in person.

Here's a link to the listing:

I'm pretty excited! :bassist::bassist::bassist:

Welcome!! Always good to hear from another 1500 enthusiast! You need a number......:bassist:

thanks for the welcome! hell yeah the thing is a tank! all my friends want one now haha, i've been using it with my friend's cabs (2 behringer 4x10s) for the past few months since he has no head and i am cabless and the sound is huge! i was surprised to find behringer cabs could sound that well. i'll be pulling the trigger on some avatar cabs or an lds or emperor cab soon, just gotta make up my mind :ninja:

number please! :bassist:

man, I know the feeling. If you read that last 2 pages or so of this thread you'll see that they are all pretty much me asking everyone else for some cab advise. ....there are SO many good options it's nearly impossible to commit to just one (or two!)

Best of luck!

.......................if you happen to want a Carvin RL410 PM me.....

bringing back an old B1500 thread. Now we'll all start posting of how much we love our pristine B1500's that sit around unplayed in months. Then we'll climb all over each other trying to sell em off here in this thread. :p :p

But really, I keep saying this big mother of an amp is gonna make a huge comeback once all the "young guns" find out about the B-Bomber and don't need to pocket a micro amp like all us ol' farts. I'm hanging onto mine a few years longer.

I actually did a benefit gig a couple weeks ago. Backline for bass; sure enough, B1500. Cool.
Congrats on your score(s). They'll be worth money again someday I tell y'all.

Since getting my fEARful cabs put together, I have definitely rediscovered the virtues of my B1500. I still rank this high on my list of preferred heads.

I would not sell my b1500.......well since I have 3 if a close friend needed one.........maybe.......but I have tried all the big boys (aggie/mesa/fender/genz/etc) and their big boy super powered heads and keep coming back to my b1500. I find it to be magical in tone! The weight isn't a problem. I wouldnt sacrifice weight for WHUMP. I have had the markbass/gk/etc lightweights and favor the b1500 over all. The b1500 is why skb makes a wheeled rack and there are roadcases! LOL
