Carvin SB5000 / SB4000 Roll Call...Part 2!

could anyone make a mock up of a ferrai red one, white pg, active electronics, matching headstock, and a rosewood neck with mop block inlays.

by the way does anyone have the deminsions of the neck. width at nut and such. Also how does it feel. compared to a standard jazz neck? I've got small hand and I like a thinner neck.
It's all on Carvin's web site under "Specifications." The SB4000 is a pretty thick neck depth-wise and width-wise, it's a little wider than a standard Jazz 1.5 nut. These are not Ibanez-thin necks.

1.53" wide @ nut, 2.5" wide @ 20th fret; .83" thick @ 1st fret.
I can tell you that the SB4000's neck is a bit chunky.
SB5000 has a pretty thin neck depth-wise and most people are saying it's more comfortable than the SB4000 (relatively speaking).

Ok so for the people who have questions concerning the 4 vs 5 neck, i drove to the san diego store to make my purchase, just to make sure that i got the better neck profile. If you like Pbass necks you will love the 4 string. its chunky like a pbass neck but not as wide, its just slightly wider feeling than a J, but its still pretty comfortable.
If you like J bass necks better just get the 5string unless you are adamant about playing 4 strings. If you really are then you could ask for a thinner neck profile for the 4 and im sure they could do it, but they might upcharge you.(which wont be that much) I will say, that even tho the neck isnt as thin as a more modern J bass its still pretty comfortable. I just thought the 5 neck felt worlds better, thats why i got the 5, and im very happy indeed.

IMO basic = good most of the time! My mantra here @ work has always been "It doesn't have to be pretty, it just has to work."
Any particular reason why you chose alder vs. ash Ed? I've read that in the past some of the ash SB's had some body image... err.... weight issues, but that Carvin was going to start weighing pieces to make sure they weren't coming out Alembic-dense.

While I love swamp ash, my preference has shifted to alder for the increased midrange response. Over the years, I've found I am less into the scooped tone. Give me some mids!
Got my postcard in the mail yesterday saying mine would be ready by the 18th of November. I am ecstatic about this!
My SB5000 has an alder body as well.. I think i got lucky, it weighs in at 10lbs exactly. And it does have a sweet midrange definition.

That's gonna be super classy!
Simple is best. I think sometimes people get a little too enthusiastic with the options that Carvin offers and sometimes come away with something gaudy looking.
I think keeping it simple and classic like this one is the best way to go.
