Well it's about 1K difference between the two I'm pondering. For anybody else who had questions similar to mine, I found jzucker's comments on pg 17 & 18 of the first intallment of this thread summarizing the differences between the Sadowsky and SB5000 helpful.

$1000? You must be talking about the difference between a metro and a SB5000... There *is* a difference between a Metro and an NYC - not the least of which is price.

Hey All,

I have an SB5000, looking to add a used SB4000 Used ash/maple if possible.. If you have both SB5000 and SB4000 aside from the weight difference, have you noticed any other differences, sonically, physically, as it's a slightly smaller bass than the sb5000.

Also.. if you have an sb4000 you're looking to get rid of PM me!

here it is with the .99 cent pickguard i won on ebay. it came with the plain white one, didn't like it so much. i like this color combo alot.

I ordered a SB 4000 today. We'll see what the turnaround time is.

Nice!...Seems like most orders are being fulfilled in about 5-6 weeks depending on options.
I was told yesterday that my rebuild will take the full 7 weeks. I opted for a Koa body on my SB5000 and Bart at Carvin said they just got some prime Koa in and it is being dried out so it will take a little longer. But he said the Koa they got is very Choice :D

I ordered mine with a swamp ash body from Steve who indicated a 4-5 week eta. I don't even know what Koa is, I'll have to Google it. Looks like you live around the corner from me.

I saw this Uber nice SB5000 on the in-stock page at Carvin.com yesterday. Only lasted one day :eek: I think the price was
around $1650-$1700.. Very nice looking Burled Maple top Bass though :)

Two thoughts:

I'm not normally a gold hardware fan, but on this bass it looks nice;
And
I'd like the icon headstock for this bass better. Otherwise, it's very cool.
