Carvin SB5000 / SB4000 Roll Call...Part 5!

Hey Braus,

Seeing the interest on that SB5000 and the fair price, I've listened quite a good amount of soundclips. And well it realy sounds good.

However, , I realy find that this bass has the same tone or very similar to my swamp ash/maple, J99 equiped Carvin B4, bought 8 or 9 years ago.

For those who have tried both, do you confirm my impressions ?

Thanks, I try to persue myself I don't need another bass.

Peace

Look what the UPS man brought me today!

It's passive as opposed to my active SB5000. Haven't seen many other SB basses in white/white either. I really prefer the passive humbucker/single coil sound to the active single coils sound of the 5er. Sounds like a beast, plays like butter. Don't think I'll be getting rid of this one anytime soon!

Awesome man, that looks totally bad ass!

Would love to hear some sound clips since its passive and has a humbucker. Unique combination.

Nobody has experience with the SB series and the B4 series ?
:)

Thanks

Just pulled the trigger on a blackity-blackity-black stealth SB5K via Carvin. Kudos to Don in CS for his sage advice...

Thinking this War Machine would be arriving around Labor Day? Can't arrive soon enough.

There's a fellow from the Carvin BBS who has one I'm emulating, but mine has the SB headstock. His pic is included.

Glad to be aboard, fellows! First round of drinks is on my tab!

Just pulled the trigger on blue SB5000 from in-stock page. Not my fav color and options... BUT the weight on this bass was 8.6lb!!!! and it's not even chambered..

Will report back once i get this bass

That's the bass that I returned and still haven't gotten my refund for yet. :(

Here's a crappy cell phone pic of when I got it.

Hopefully the fixed the QC issues. And yes, she is quite light.

We will see if carvin fixed anything about it. If not, i will probably return it too.
