Go ahead and post pics here, just remember to give all credit to the SB's and talk about how you just got the B50 to save money or because you weren't quite sold on the SB body style. There have been several B40/50 posts in this thread, and i feel they are welcome. It's just a different body style to the same bass we all know and love.

Honeyburst was high on my list. I decided to go with deep orangeburst to get a little more "color" in there I guess, but I still perk up when I see a honeyburst bass. It looks so good with the white pearloid PG.

Yeah, I'm all for posting it here. I think the two basses are similar enough to warrant a post in this thread (although others might disagree). I did, however, go to the b40/50 thread and look at your post. Very nice bass. Carvin does it up right.

Thanks. It's hard to tell from my photo, but the edges are not as brown as they appear. it's more of a deep red, or burgundy. I literally spent almost 2 months trying to decide on that color. Once I saw it in person, I never looked back - especially with the swamp ash grain. :smug:

As soon as you post to that thread, it will magically not be buried anymore! :D

By default, all B50's and SB5000s share the same pickups, hardware and neck. Just a different body and price. That's what made ordering a B50 sight unseen (2, actually) a no brainer since I knew it would play just like my SB. Both are awesome basses!

I truly, truly love it. I had originally wanted the SB, but I have always preferred P styles to J styles, for aesthetic reasons purely...

This carvin (and all SBs) have so many fine qualities. I would compare them to the high end Ibanez and Yamaha models, as well as the peavy cirrus in many ways, as in regards to quality and tone.

In all the essential places, the B50 is identical to the SB5000...I would guess they sound exactly the same: A hi-end, hi-fi tone that is still capable of getting that jazz bass "growl".

Carvin is a winner!

It's absolutely gorgeous. If I had ordered a swamp ash body I think I would have gotten that honeyburst. Alas, i feel it would look a little plain on alder (which is what I ordered). I've seen your bass in the threads before and its always striking. Good choice.

That icon looks pretty slick with no face dots. I had a tobias with no face dots and didn't really like the look of it too much. But the maple with no dots looks killer. A ruby SB5k with birdseye and no face markers would be clean. Pearloid PG? sounds fitting.
