No, it's down right mean. It's bad enough I got to wait 10 weeks on a custom, but now I have all these wonderful basses and soundclips to torture me. 06/04 will not come fast enough.

Carvin SB5000 / SB4000 Roll Call...Part 6!

Congratulations. I can't wait to order a new one so I can feel that rush of anticipation combined with the real understanding of how awesome these basses are. I'm thinking something with birdseye maple, or maybe just that umberburst with the large blocks of MOP and matching knobs ya'll were rapping about..

Just to make the wait even longer for you guys, I love my 5001 more and more everytime I pick it up. I can't get enough of the sound!
How do you like your combo? Right now I'm playing through an Ampeg B2R and a Carvin BR210 at the house and I'm thinking about selling it and getting an MB12.

I love it's sound not to mention the tonal options, and extras. My bass friends love it too, they who are more experienced than I in such things, think I musta done good, so I musta. Love the 12 didn't so much care for the simple 10 in. To my ears the combo with angled speaker gives a much nicer sound.
My beautiful SB5000 finally arrived yesterday after 11 long weeks! It's defininitely what I expected and more. I am amazed at the many tones you can get out of this bass!! WOW!

Two very nice basses, dafunky. I know I really like having a couple of LB70s to go with my SB4000. They have different voices, and they are all great to play. Have fun with your Carvins!
Slight return to the off topic. I've now used my new Carvin BRX10.2NEO 2x10 quite a bit. I've A/B'ed it with my SWRs at home extensively, used it on four rehearsals with three different bands and on one 4-hour gig now and I'm pretty impressed with the thing.
This thing can really move some air for such a little cab. I'm running it with the GK MB800 and they feel like a good match. The BRX10.2NEO cab needs a lot of power to really fill out the cab and do its thing and the MB800 is more than happy to oblige. I played a set yesterday with a backline amp (Marshall 2x10 something) then three sets with my MB800/BRX setup and man what a difference.
We played the RHCP version of Higher Ground last night and the band likes me to cut loose on that one a bit and Flea it up a bit and I did. The rhythm guitar player came to be between sets and said "Man... I could feel your bass through my whole body on stage on that song. It was just pounding and driving that song" And it was, that BRX doesn't wimp out on you if you give it a strong bass line, it really delivers the punch.
I'm happy with the purchase. Thanks for the info, Basswave. So now 2/3's of my rig is Carvin. And I still get those times where people come up and say it sounds great and they ask me what I'm using and I say Carvin and they go, "Oh..."
Carvin, it's still the Rodney Dangerfield of good bass gear, hehe.
